This isn't my first time at The Good Baker. I was here last year a few times and thoroughly enjoyed it. This time not so much. 1. The FLIES are just ridiculous! What the heck?? 2. I've gone three times this go around and most times they are out of the items prior to 11 a.m. 3. It looks like the presentation has changed, last year you got a little cookie with your order of hot cocoa, and a paper placemat. Today I received none of that. The sandwich pictures is the club sandwich. It was tasty just not my first choice. I asked for the bagel with creme cheese and tomatoes, they said it wasn't available. I did like the like atmosphere, but the flies wouldn't allow me to enjoy it so I ended up leaving instead of enjoying the ambiance.

Went on a Saturday at 2 PM and left with mixed feelings—and a cheesecake. • Salmon Citrus Salad: Tasty greens, but the whole thing was on the smaller side, and the salmon was barely trying to graduate. • Egg in the Hole: Sent back twice for being too runny, only to settle for ā€œsunny-side obliterated.ā€ • Bacon Bagel: Finally, a win! Crispy bacon as promised, no complaints here. • Buff Loaf French Toast: A creative twist gone wrong. The ā€œorganic maple syrupā€? Not maple, not Canadian, just syrup-shaped disappointment. After requesting proof, I got a no-name Chinese imposter instead of the golden miracle. The waitress was lovely and saved the day with a complimentary cheesecake, but overall, this was more ā€œmehā€ than magic.

The Good Baker coffee shops are built around the use of high-quality and responsibly-sourced ingredients in everything, from their coffee to cold-pressed juices and artisan food They promote a message of sustainability on a local level, which attracts a growing number of environmentally-conscious people to their shops. Their coffee shops are one of the best places for passionate and often under-represented people to gather and discuss their ideas and beliefs, especially when the establishment shares those ideas through their ethics. Their design, layout & fixtures, lighting, sound, scent, and human interaction come together beautifully to create an ideal atmosphere for customers.

Great ambiance, a nice menu selection, but service needs improvement. Had to waive down the waiter for service. Our orders were entered, and after a 30-45 min wait, he brought my friends food, but not mine. Then he comes back a few minutes later to inform me that I would have to change my order as they do not have the green club bread. Wow, at this time you are just now coming to tell me this? Not happy. I reluctantly ordered oatmeal instead as this is the only other vegan item. I specified that I would like maple syrup instead of honey. They brought the order in some time, and it came with a bottle looking like honey. I asked him is this maple syrup? He said no, and that I know I said that I didn’t want honey, but they are out of maple syrup. Eii, so he wasn’t even going to tell me this before just bringing the bottle there. Strict vegans do not eat honey, so it is important to be aware and respect dietary preferences.

After the long wait, and issues with the orders, we were assessed an automatic service fee on the bill. The service however was less than optimal, but I didn’t argue it. The bill had one item scratched out as there was an error in taking our orders for drinks; but the grand total was not updated. I had to ask for clarification on how much I was supposed to pay. Then I was told that I could subtract the cost of the drink that was punched in error. I mentioned the taxes and service fees, which are percentage-based line items, and that this would not add up properly. After some back and forth, the waiter left to get a corrected bill, but came back with the same one, and gave me an amount I should subtract out including a portion of the service fee. I’m not sure why I as a customer would be expected to be doing calculations and adjustments - bring the bill correctly, or YOU as the waiter make the necessary calculations and tell me how much I have to pay. Not sure if it was a new team, or a bad day, or normal.. maybe o would give it another try in the future, but not in a...

This was my second time at The Good Baker, and unfortunately, it didn’t live up to expectations. The service was noticeably slow (just like the first time), and our waiter kept forgetting some of the items we ordered. It took multiple reminders to get everything we asked for, and even then, not everything came out right.

What really left a bad taste in my mouth was the 10% table charge we were billed for — especially after receiving subpar service. When I asked what the charge was for, the waiter said it covered the WiFi and ā€œbreakables.ā€ I didn’t use the WiFi, and I certainly didn’t break anything, so that explanation felt frustrating and unjustified.

As for the food, the burger I had was alright and the chocolate chip cookie I ordered was so hard and dry. To be fair, one of the other servers noticed our disappointment and kindly offered my friend and me a cookie each on the house. It was a nice gesture, though it didn’t quite make up for the rest of the experience.

Overall, I really wanted to like this place, but after two visits, I’m not sure I’ll be back. There's potential, but they need to work on consistency, customer service, and communication around...

First time visit and honestly very beautiful and serene setting and this is the reason for the 1 star, however that’s it. Half the menu wasn’t available. Me and a couple of friends came in for brunch but no brunch menu available. No sides. The drinks are minuscule for their price. One of my friends ordered the quinoa cranberry salad and it took 30mins for them to tell us they were missing an ingredient to make it, she ended up NOT eating. Our bagel we ended up customising because there was nothing available we were charged an extra 30ghc for cardboard basically. The bagels were over toasted and hard, the bacon was tasteless, the chicken was tasteless and dry! No salad, no butter, no dressing. Just some spring onions on top for decoration. We were very disappointed to say the least and to have been charged table service also was beyond ridiculous. We tried speaking to the manager but he seemed more concerned with charging us than getting repeated custom. It’s a shame as it’s a very beautiful place but they need to improve in the customer satisfaction department. Why ask if the food was ok and when you receive feedback ignore...
