Brigante (Σύνταγμα) — Restaurant in Athens

My mom and I were looking for a delicious pizza, so we wandered around Athens and saw a little yellow sign pointing down an alleyway that said “pizza and vino.“ The exterior and interior make you feel as if you’re venturing into a Wes Anderson film to have pizza! As we walked into the restaurant, we were immediately greeted by the kindest, warmest man who owned the place. He walked us through how to order, his recommendations (which he will base off of your mood, I loved that) and helped me pair my Bianca pizza with a lovely glass of white wine from Greece. Both of our pizzas were the best we’ve ever had—and we’ve eaten a lot of pizza in our lives! But the authenticity and the honesty in each ingredient made this pizza special. I ordered a pasta for my dad and a pizza for myself. The pizza sauce was extremely salty — completely inedible — and even my dad confirmed it. I informed the waitress and asked to change it for a pasta instead.

When the bill came, they charged me for three meals. After a long 15-minute argument with the manager, I suggested to taste that sauce himself and finally he reacted disrespectfully and insisted I pay in cash for two meals, even though it was their mistake. I hadn’t cash so I ended up paying 46€ for two people and three meals.

If I had known they would charge me just for replacing a salty, inedible pizza that wasn’t my fault, I would never have ordered the replacement. Absolutely no respect for customers or fair service. Very...

Absolutely phenomenal food. Pizza and Pasta and Salad alike were nothing but perfect. Noodles were fresh homemade, all the sauces were delicious, and we have nothing but good things to say. We had a group of six, here were the orders:

1. Prosciutto Salad and Margarita Pizza for the table
2. Carbonara Tagliatelle x2
3. Quadro Fromaggi tagliatelle
4. Amatriciana Tagliatelle
5. Quadro Fromaggi Penne
6. Carbonara Peperdelle

Service was also great. For my American Friends - Service was much more similar to Americana style.

It's a smaller place but they were very accommodating for our larger party and made sure to attend to each of us.
