Niki Athens was a wonderful introduction to Greece for me and my husband’s honeymoon. The front desk attendants are very nice and gave us all the details we needed for our stay at their hotel. The price point is great, we stayed in a typical room with a king bed and it was much more affordable than those on the nearby islands. The room is equipped with vegan toiletries and we even had a tray of pound cakes waiting for us when we arrived. The rooms are very cozy but felt perfect for just the two of us. The hotel is cozy all around, it feels personal with a turn key and much smaller number of rooms than a traditional American hotel. We chose this hotel specifically because we wanted to have the safety net of a vegan restaurant attached to the hotel. Unfortunately, the restaurant is not open on Mondays and Tuesdays, which was a majority of our stay, but we were delighted that next door is a vegan bakery, and across the street there is a vegetarian restaurant next door to a health food store, which offered food security (although we didn’t need it! Athens has soooo many vegan options! I was never worried about finding my next meal!) Not only is food easily walkable, but we felt very lucky to have chosen a hotel so close to literally everything we wanted to see! The acropolis museum was maybe a 20 minute walk, restaurants we were interested in trying were never more than 15 minutes away by foot, and a taxi is always close by for the longer excursions. When we finally got to try the restaurant, it was delicious!!! The housekeeping staff is very pleasant and detail oriented, our room was perfect every afternoon when we came back from exploring. Niki Athens was extremely good to us when we asked for anything. We are happy with our stay and will absolutely stay again when...
Read moreI'm surprised this hotel doesn't get better reviews because it's in such a nice location. It was walkable to most attractions and was fairly quiet at night. Our 4th floor room had zero view (we faced a wall) but the quiet location made up for the lack of a view. Sometimes, if our window was open, you could hear traffic on the main road, but that pales in comparison to the noise in places like Monastiraki or Psirri. There was an elevator so we didn't have to climb the stairs. This is a small, boutique hotel, so we never had to wait for the elevator. In addition to a quiet location, I loved that there were restaurants and even a small organic grocery store very close to the hotel. The room wasn't huge (but bigger than many rooms in New York City!) but it was comfortable. The hotel is connected to a vegan restaurant. It was nice to have free breakfast there every day. They have a breakfast menu and you order what you like. They have a non-vegan menu for those who are not plant-based. The breakfast was so filling that we only purchased one meal a day. This was a great stay for our vacation budget! I think the best part of the hotel was the staff. Everyone was so friendly and kind. The girls who served breakfast became our friends over the course of our 11 night stay. It was really nice to get to know them and to hear about real life in Athens. For our needs, this stay...
Read moreThis boutique hotel is situated in a great location and you can easily walk to almost anything you want to do or see around the plaka and acropolis. The staff was so helpful and kind in helping with taxis, or any room requests. The king bed was very comfortuable. The room was a bit snug but not a big issue-I prefer it snug; with a king bed. The morning breakfasts we just right. They have a nice bar and make pretty good craft cocktails to order. The restaurant is vegetarian (which I am not) so I was so pleasantly surprised at the quality and tastiness of the meals. I might even convert ;-). Overall a great pick, we would stay again and we...
