Coffee Lab (Museum Location) â A Hidden Gem in Athens
Run by a fantastic husband and wife team, this café was a real find. We were staying nearby and came across it by chance while exploring the area.
We ended up visiting every day during our short 3-day trip to Athens. Each visit was a pleasure. This is Greek hospitality at its finest.
It's clear the couple take pride in what they do. Service was warm, attentive and genuine. We were always greeted with a smile and made to feel like we were the only customers in the café. The different coffee blends were explained to us, and each one we tried was excellent.
They also offer a nice selection of sweet and savoury bites, and drinks come in three different sizes. You can also purchase a variety of teas and coffee to take away.
Highly recommended â a lovely spot run by...

Now, the pastries. My kidsâwho treat baked goods with all the seriousness of Olympic judgesâdevoured them. No crumbs, no complaints, just quiet, sugary joy. Thatâs pathos.
We liked it so much, we went back the same day. And when we walked in, they remembered us. Not in a "Do you want the same order?" way. In a "Youâre backâwelcome" way....

After I had purchased my coffee and sat reading for a short time, the cafe employees turned on horribly loud music which made it impossible for me to concentrate. I don't see why they would have wanted to drive me out because there were plenty of free seats. Why would anyone be so rude and inconsiderate as to turn on loud music in a quiet cafe when someone is sitting and reading over coffee?!? I ended up finishing my reading & coffee sitting on a curb in the urine-soaked park across the street. What a horrible experience!...
