It was a happy accident that I passed by this place from buying coffee beans from a local roaster. I did not have any idea on what these fried roundish doughs were but they sure did looked delicious from the display so I stopped by and asked to buy a small box to go which contained 6 doughnuts drizzled in honey. I decided to eat them "to go" at the bench in front of the cafe. OMG! They were so good! YUM!! Why have I not tried this the previous times I went to Athens?! The dough was light and airy, it was truly a comfort food! My last day in Athens, I still had time to spare so I made sure to return but unfortunately (even though the opening time was listed at 9am) it was still closed. I would not hesitate to eat this again if I do find myself in Athens. The cafe has a vintage look, certainly had some history and the staff are nice and accommodating. Highly...

They are a traditional little shop, keeping the traditional flair of lost decades, lovely interior, and I have lovely memories from the shop since I am coming here with my grandmother since I was 10, but today I wanted to get my partner to experience the same thing and the service was horrific.

And THEY DID NOT HAD ICE-CREAM, not because they run out, even that would have been understandable, but because the weather was cold outside (12°C) and the manager decided in the middle of the day to stop the machines.
THEY SERVE TWO THINGS. TWO. WE WALKED 12 MILES AND CAME FROM THE OTHER SIDE OF ATHENS FOR AN EMPLOYEE TO DO WITH THE SHOP WHATEVER SHE...
Read moreKrinos is, in my opinion, the best place for loukoumades in Athens. With over a century of history, this establishment has mastered the art of making these traditional Greek doughnuts. The loukoumades are perfectly crispy on the outside, light and airy on the inside, and best enjoyed plain—without sauces or ice cream—to fully appreciate their authentic flavour. Beyond the loukoumades, however, the rest of the menu doesn’t quite reach the same level. That said, the experience is still worth it, as the place itself exudes history. The walls are adorned with old photographs and memorabilia, creating a nostalgic atmosphere. We even had the chance to chat with the owner, which added a personal touch to our visit. If you’re in Athens, Krinos is a must-visit for loukoumades lovers looking for a taste...
