I visited the restaurant on October 1st, a party of two people. The place has created quite a buzz in the Athenian resto scene over the last few month so I wanted to see if it meets the expectations. We ordered: 1) Shrimp bao buns: The dish was tasty and the flavours worked really well together but the coating of the shrimps was not crunchy as it should be but rather mushy. 2) Potato bread: The potato bread itself was a tad sweeter than I would prefer but the chicken was crunchy and the flavouring profile of the dish again worked well together. However, a more even distribution of peanut butter was required 3) Kagianas: The worst plate of all and the one that was the reason I cut another star from my review. First of all the chorizo was not a chorizo. It was a greasy sausage. The tempura was greasy as well and I could not detect tomato on the runny egg sauce. Traditional kagianas is consisted of tomato, eggs and meat. The acidity of the tomato cuts the richness of the meat and eggs. Here we did not have that. The purple potato was a nice addition though 4) Duck breast: Well cooked and the carrot puree was excellent but the hoizin sauce was too salty in my opinion. Overall I believe if they work on correcting some of their issues they could become better. For now, if you are in the area give it a try but do not get out of your way to visit. The staff is very friendly and attentive and it has a pretty solid wine list. I understand they have a good beer selection but as I am not an avid fun of beer I did...
Read moreI have been visiting the place many years now and in the beginning it was a very pleasant 4- 5 star experience . What I will write now is a personal opinion and doesn’t necessary represent the opinion of the mass as also I have visited the restaurant many places and had a totally different experience . The staff has somehow an attitude for no reason and is pretentiously polite. I personally didn’t like at all the one dish I ordered ( it’s a personal taste ) as it was the only pasta choice but it came out as sweet pasta and I don’t like sweet so.. asked for a litttle but of cheese on extra charge … and they refused to serve me the extra cheese stating that the Chef in not allowing changes to her menu… I insisted to just pay for the cheese so I maybe could have my pasta but they refused to… this is kind of the attitude I am speaking about, this michellene star attitude but without the star. It’s just some extra cheese, nothing will ruin your reputation if you serve it.. when we finished our meal the plates were there on the table empty for more that’s 30 minutes and whey they came for the bill they didn’t event bring a receipt…we had to ask for it twice before paying
if you check my profile you will see that despite the fact that I am 10% percent top reviewer of food in Greece with more than 1 million views in my account I rarely...
Read moreAn incredible experience overall, from start to finish! From the first moment the staff was so welcoming and helpful, even made sure we liked the lighting at our table. Showed us around the restaurant and explained the concept, which is a basically a Sunday family meal. They have some very big tables where you can have a big group dinner like you would at home. All the food looked delicious, we couldn’t decide what to get but everything we tried was excellent! They helped us choose the dishes we had as well as the wine. It was my mum’s birthday and they even brought us as a gift an entire birthday cake like we had been friends for years. Such a caring gesture. The pappardelle ragu was different from a regular ragu pasta, very special. The aubergine arancini delicious and very delicate flavours. The atmosphere and decor very cool and relaxed. Loved everything about this place and will...
