I recently had the pleasure of visiting Tavern Klimataria in Athens, and I must say, it was an unforgettable experience. The highlight of the evening was undoubtedly the incredible band and their mesmerizing music. The lead female singer, who also played the Qanun, showcased exceptional talent and skill. Her performance was truly captivating, and it added an extra layer of charm to the entire ambiance.
While it's true that the majority of guests at Tavern Klimataria are tourists, including myself, I found that it didn't detract from the fantastic atmosphere. In fact, it seemed to enhance it. The lively and spirited environment created by the enthusiastic audience made the evening even more enjoyable. It was a delight to be surrounded by people from different parts of the world, all coming together to appreciate the music and revel in the moment.
Now, let's talk about the food. The menu at Tavern Klimataria offers a range of classic Greek traditional dishes, and I must say that each one was a delight for the taste buds. The flavors were rich and authentic, showcasing the true essence of Greek cuisine. The dishes were prepared with utmost care, and it was evident that the chef paid attention to detail. I found myself savoring every bite and relishing the culinary journey through Greece.
To complement the delightful meal, I opted for the house red wine, and it exceeded my expectations. The wine was of high quality, with a rich and robust flavor that perfectly complemented the food. It was evident that the establishment takes pride in offering a well-curated selection of wines that enhance the dining experience.
Overall, my time at Tavern Klimataria was nothing short of extraordinary. The band's incredible performance, particularly the lead female singer's mastery of the Qanun, left a lasting impression on me. The atmosphere, despite the mainly tourist crowd, was lively and filled with positive energy. The food was a delicious journey through Greek culinary traditions, and the house red wine was a perfect accompaniment. I left with cherished memories and a deep appreciation for the experience I had. I highly recommend Tavern Klimataria to anyone looking for a remarkable evening of music, delicious food, and a warm,...
Read moreAfter I told my host in Athens who were born and has lived in the city for 60 years what I have experienced in your restaurant, she said she has never heard about your restaurant.
The waitress and service are the worst I have ever encountered. I don’t know how you can decline a client twice who came from far away to visit your city for the first time.
Okay, the first time I didn’t know I needed a reservation—even though I had just unpacked at my hotel and went directly to your restaurant at 22:00 without having anything to eat—only to be asked to come the next day with an on-site reservation. And the response I got was simply but rudely: “You come at 7:30 PM, then you go at 9 PM.”
Then the next day, because my battery bank was lost and I had to go back to my hotel to charge my dying phone, I was late. The waitress rudely said: “You are late. It is impossible to have your dinner.”
This was said to a client who was starving and hurried to the restaurant after charging their phone a little bit.
And the interesting thing? I saw there were empty tables!
If having a reservation is important for your preparation, I can understand. But I did have a reservation, I was just late because of an accident. Yet your waitress behaved rudely and arrogantly, declining a client who traveled far—even when there were empty tables and seats.
Even on the first day, when I didn’t know a reservation was required, I was rudely refused service despite the fact that there was enough food and empty seats!
If you want to do good marketing, educate your staff and improve your service first.
————- This is the reply to your reply: Yes, I was late but I was trying to explain with respect to your staff there was an accident, only to get her arrogant and rude attitude, the last sentence I gave her was ‘I don’t appreciate your service’ if you need to call that ‘gave attitude to your staff’
There were empty tables and seats, and food in the kitchen when your waitress rudely told me ‘You need a reservation’ the first time and ‘it’s not possible to have your dinner’...
Read moreSo I went here on the 2nd Jan. Arrived at 8.30 to be asked if I could come back at 9.30. Seeing the food coming out and the empty plates, I agreed. Roll on 9.30 seated really close to the awesome greek band we order a pork knuckle ( far to much pepper on it with no mention on the menu about that) the non ordered bread arrives (having read google reviews I expected that) the wine was good, the knuckle once pased the pepper coating was fab. Having read the reviews, I knew there was a cover charge for the band of 3 euros ahead, so all good I thought until the bill arrived with 25 euros x2 nothing else. So we do the maths and we work out we spent 39 euros. So my husband says I think you have the bill wrong." He was then told I was told it was a min spend of 25 euros a head. If I had been told that I would have ordered different food as I would have probably spent more trying to get to the cover charge. What actually happened is we were charged 10 euros more then we ordered and will never go again which is a shame as we enjoyed it to that point and would have been fine with the min spend if we had known. The thing that really upset me was the waitress told my husband she had explicitly told me which she most certainly didn't as I am quite OCD about things like that and in the 2 min convo to book the table not a mention. As I said, if I had known, I would have ordered extra food. We were not reminded when we were seated either, which is usually the norm with min spend restaurants. We also didn't get the famed dessert, so even more of a rip-off. Avoid unless it's when they don't have music or enjoy as you have now been for...
