The view is great, that’s the only redeeming thing about this place. As for the bad, The food is absolutely terrible, we got 4 appetizers because we weren’t that hungry and god am I happy I didn’t get to experience the monstrosities that the main dishes could’ve been. The Greek salad was ok We got spicy mango cheese balls that tasted like they fried mango sirup and added cheese sauce. Disgusting Hummus was by far the worst I’ve ever tasted, clumpy, dry and a LOT of cumin. The other spreads with pita bread were ok. As for the drinks, they were fine as far as tourist traps go. Don’t take the fries with Parmesan cheese, you don’t taste the truffle oil at all, and I had an entire plate of cheese left after I was done with the fries. I can’t stress this enough, DONT TAKE the fries unless you want to eat an entire casserole of Parmesan cheese. Some reviews say the food is great to ok? I truly believe these people have never eaten anything other than dog food. Now for the service, mediocre at best. Bare minimum from grumpy waiters, we waited 1h for 4 appetizers and only got them because we got up and asked for it. They were definitely ready but the waiter just couldn’t care less about doing his job. After our “dinner” we asked for the check and the waiter asked if we could pay in cash, which we found very very weird, seeing how everyone else was able to pay with card. Anyways, this “restaurant” wears its name well, it’s a view and nothing more. Edit :Thank you for your reply! Now let me address some of the points you tried to make. As for the food, it was disgusting, by any human standards. Your waiter DID ask us to pay cash only, so i suggest you review either your policy or your hiring standards. You say I paint a picture that isn’t the reality at Thissio View, that statement truly shows how disconnected you are with that reality And it showed in the food and service we got that night. Yes my review was harsh, but I hope you take my claims seriously and strive to learn from my experience. Thank you

Only thing that’s worth it about this place is the view. We had read reviews online about how the food wasn’t the best, but decided to still take a chance because apparently the restaurant offers a very good view of the acropolis. It does, but I don’t know if that view makes up for the food. I had a mojito, which tasted like sugar and rhum, while my boyfriend had a pink spritz; in my opinion was disgusting and way too sugary, but he liked it. We decided to split a few entrees; the Greek salad was the least offensive thing we ordered, but not great by any standards. Tzatziki was okay, hummus was terrible and we also had an eggplant spread which was meh. The parmesan fries were ridiculous; normal fries with an absurd amount of sliced Parmesan on top. The cheese balls with mango mayo were absolutely terrible. The service was lacking, and our server was unpleasant. It took over one hour for us to get our food, the restaurant was somewhat busy but still no excuse for having to wait such a long time for a few entrees. We also got our food immediately after letting the waiter know we had been waiting for such a long time, which lets us think the food had been ready for a while and he just forgot to bring it to us. The prices were also quite high for the type of food you get; expected since it’s a tourist spot, but still insulting to pay so much for such bad food (total was 71 € for everything). The server also asked us if it was possible to pay in cash, which my boyfriend and I both found kind of strange. Overall, the only selling point of this restaurant is the view. I do not reccomend.

I found Thissio View to be the perfect spot for a "taste" of ancient Greece. I had breakfast there. Here's what I ordered: - Fruit Juice: This delightful blend of carrot, banana, and orange and the banana slice garnish was a sweet touch. - Affogato: A rich coffee paired with icy ice cream! There were some chunks of ice in the ice cream, but it didn't detract from the overall enjoyment. The robustness of the coffee balanced the dessert well. - Cheese and Ham Crepe: A classic and tasty combination that "creped" right into my heart. The accompanying side of greens with oil and vinegar was a nice addition. The atmosphere at Thissio View is like none other, with the awe-inspiring Parthenon and Acropolis in full view from the third floor. I arrived early at around 9 am, before the crowds, and felt like I had the entire ancient world to myself. The top floor provided ample shade and a pleasant breeze, making it a "breeze" to enjoy the scenery. While the food was delicious, the main "dish" here is the stunning, historic views. I would definitely recommend Thissio View for anyone seeking a picturesque dining experience!

A Nightmarish Experience at Thissio View – Never Again!

I rarely leave reviews, but after the disastrous New Year’s Eve dinner we had at Thissio View, I feel compelled to warn others. Our experience was a complete nightmare, and I wouldn’t wish it on anyone.

Firstly, the wait. We arrived on time, eagerly anticipating a special evening, only to wait an entire hour before anyone even acknowledged us or offered a drink. No water, no apologies – just ignored in the corner while other guests got served. It's New Year's Eve, and you expect better for 100 Euros a seat!

Once we were finally served, it was all downhill. Every course was served cold, from the appetisers to the mains. Cold over cooked shrimp on cold under cooked risotto? Check. Cold sides? Check. I don’t even know how that’s possible, especially at a high-end restaurant charging premium prices.

To top it off, the "music" was horrendous. It wasn’t just bad, it was unbearable, with off-key songs blaring at full volume that completely killed the vibe. We were hoping for more of a Greek experience being in Greece and sitting under the acropolis, instead we had Jazz rejects called out of retirement playing Beatles covers. No one in our party could enjoy their meal or conversation.

We politely approached management with our complaints, hoping for some acknowledgment or at least a gesture to make things right. Instead, we were met with complete indifference. The manager actually rejected our complaint, offering no solutions or even a hint of apology.

Thisssio View has completely ruined what was supposed to be a memorable evening. With terrible service, cold food, and an awful atmosphere, this was an embarrassment. Save your money and avoid this place at all costs – there are far better dining experiences out there. Never...
