While boasting majestic views of the Acropolis, Sin Athina disappointingly fails to deliver a complete fine dining experience. The stunning vistas initially distract from the restaurant's shortcomings, but disappointing food and disorganized service make for an underwhelming overall evening.
I opted for the veal chop, which arrived small and woefully underseasoned. The few roasted potatoes served were nicely crispy and fluffy, but could not make up for the lackluster chop. While the food proved mediocre, the real issue was the haphazard service. With no clear table sections, servers bounced unpredictably between tables. This led to long lag times between courses and difficulty flagging down staff when needed. On one occasion, after finally getting our server's attention for drink refills, we were told our original server was now off duty and we had been transferred to a new one - with no notification or introduction.
With stunning views upstairs of the Acropolis, Sin Athina shows initial promise. But disorganized service and mediocre execution leave much to be desired. With refined cuisine and a more attentive and structured front-of-house staff, the restaurant could take far better advantage of its prime location. As is, you may still want to visit for the views over a drink, but come with modest culinary...
Read moreThis was one of the most amazing dinners I have ever had. I made a same day reservation for the terrace for dinner at 6:30pm. We arrived to the restaurant and were instructed by a waitress to head all the way to the top....The view was SPECTACULAR! We were greeted by a very friendly waiter who let us choose our table and gave us the menu updates. We tried the meatballs for an appetizer, slow cooked lamb and tender beef for main dishes along with homemade pita bread and a bottle of Moscato. Everything was absolutely delicious. The wait staff on the terrace were extremely attentive; refilling our glasses, bringing hot dishes to the table and removing empty ones. We were able to take gorgeous photos and even try their homemade vanilla ice cream which might have been one of the best dishes of ice cream I've ever had.... and it was only vanilla. If in the area and looking for somewhere to eat, this restaurant will not disappoint. Make a reservation for upstairs and enjoy the best view of the Acropolis or sit outside along the pedestrian walkway and take in the city. Whenever I take a trip back to Greece, this will be the spot I look forward...
Read moreI was visiting Athens for a business trip, it hosted conference related to my business. I was advised to go to Thissio as it's beautiful, not so crowded area, with fantastic view at Acropolis. I decided first night to try Sin Athina restaurant. 5 of us had business dinner and meeting and we decided to sit down, at the street level. Everything was perfect, good, service, it was quiet enough so we could have our business discussions and view at Acropolis is amazing. Next night we came back and decided to take some of our business partners to roof top terrace. This was even better experience than first night, as view at Acropolis was even better and whole atmosphere was fantastic. I had chance to have a chat with owner, manager, all of them great people, making us to feel so welcome in their restaurant, fantastic service and what i appreciate a lot as it was very personal, i wanted to make a toast for birth of my baby boy and all shots were gift from house, and there were 9 of us. So sweet and nice gift for the end of perfect night. Bravo for Sin Athina and for all people...
