This was by far the best we have had in Athens so far. This family run place is perfectly positioned walking between the Acropolis and the Agora. There are so many options, but my husband I decided to venture down this small side road off the main walk to get away from the “picture menus”. We ordered the tzatziki, pita, the fresh Idylis salad with pomegranate seeds and a spinach pie- it was all amazing and very substantial portions. The beer was nice and cold. You can tell this place has regular customers because they walk right in without even looking at the menu. They provided water to us straight away-The food was excellent- our server was super kind and helpful with recommendations, the atmosphere was set with Greek music and it was shaded with a breeze. We even got a surprise dessert. Their bathroom was very clean and was equipped with a proper changing table for little ones. We will be back!

Let's start with service at first... Service: warm welcoming, picked the best spot and explained about what they have for the day and made we are very much comfortable throughout the time we are there. Very kind people! Food: we took their specialized salad, and I can say it was a great choice. All ingredients along with the honey orange dressing have given it a very nice flavoured taste. Their kalamaki chicken. Was huge, for one person was more than enough, and the baked potatoes alongside were very tasty. Same for the brizola mosxarisia galaktos. Atmosphere: you will simply like it, with very nice greek music. Love it!!

We visited the nearby Eureka museum and were coaxed in with the mention of Moussaka, but honestly, the entire experience was so much more! We ordered the Gemista, Moussaka, eggplant in cheese in a clay pot and saganaki, but we couldn't even finish it all! It was so good and our first place eating upon arrival here in Athens. From the front tables, our view was of the Acropolis on the hill. And the staff taught us how they actually finish meals with dessert and drinks! Very relaxed and so friendly.

Well when I see a place with this many reviews still sporting 4.9 stars, I just go. And it is worth its rating! The staff is super helpful and attentive, the food is delicious and the portions are perfect. We shared the Idyll salad, fried cheese, chicken souvlaki (so lovely it was obviously brined to attain this moisture and flavor), Mousaka (top notch), they brought us out free dessert and mastiko liqueur at the end. What a great experience! Also they have fans the gently blow about the whole time and it is a well cared for environment. All the time the owner was involved with his staff to ensure all the details were correct. This is how you get 4.9! Oh also the deep friend whole potatoes with the souvlaki...

Fantastic taverna on, arguably, the cutest street in Athens. I would describe the food as very true to the taverna spirit and creative at the same time: the tomato croquettes, which I found amazing (tomato sweet and sour, buttery from the batter...🤯) are a great example of this, as is the Dakos salad. The day I came, they had a lamb special for lunch: I had to ask the chef for the recipe...Overall, I found the staff thoughtful and attentive, yet not overbearing in the least. I also thought that the decor with its choice of colours (earthy red and maroon) and the ambiance exude a lot of warmth.

Shout out to Babis and his father Christos who...
