To steki tou Ilia — Restaurant in Athens

The restaurant had nicely charred meat. Our order was done correctly and timely. Bus boys were respectful but the waiter who took our order was very hostile towards us while we were ordering and very impatient when I asked him to repeat because of how fast he was speaking, especially unexpectedly from someone working in hospitality. We initially thought it was a bad day or just a difficult man to all customers however, we noticed he joked, laughed and acted respectfully to all other customers whether Greek, Middle Eastern, American, etc. and he was more than happy to answer any questions for them and willing to describe more without questions asked. Nice staff but needs more lighting on the outside eating area!

Came here late at night and since everyone was eating outside, so did I. Nobody was inside, but I'm surprised nobody were because there aren't enough lights outside and you just can't see well enough. Also loads of stray cats walking around the tables, disturbing you.

Had the veal steak and it was very nice. However, they should've mentioned on the menu that you get french fries with your steak. Since it didn't mention any side dishes that were included, we ordered french fries on our own. The waiter could've mentioned then that we're getting french fries on the main course already - but didn't warn us. Tasty food, but I did have better in Athens. Would've been tastier with some sauce included instead of just dry fries :)

Bad service. I was sat in the dark with a few tables near me. If your table is in a bright area, great. But if you're in the dark, better dont bother to ait there. Then when 1 table in the light got free, it was given to new customers rather than moving me.

And since i was sat in the dark, calling the attention of the waiters is another story. At the end, i just had to stand up, go inside the shop and pay dorectly to the cashier cos no one seem to notice my call in the dark.

And also unfortunately, i think the portion that was served to me was poor. My lambchops were mostly bones. The cat beside me being fed by a littlw girl got korw meat than what i got.

Will i go back there for their 2nd chance? Probably NOT.
