Lefteris — Restaurant in Lefkada Municipality

We had a definitely bad experience. Low season, so they tell us there is only greek salad, shrimps, calamari, and chicken fillet. We didn't receive any menu to check. Other people around us, only locals, received several different other dishes, which was already a bit surprising. Then we received the bill: 76€ for 2 salads (8€ each!) two portions of calamari, one of shrimps, two beers and two Tsipouros. We were a bit upset so we gently asked to see the menu cause the prices seemed a bit exagerated. the waitress told us they don't have the menu, and that the prices have changed since last year. We tried to explain our surprise in a polite way and she told us "if you think it is too much you can pay 70". Then, at the moment of paying, she said to the cook the we wanted to pay less (while she actually proposed herself, previously at the table). The guy got immediately hostile and without even asking why or what the problem was, just literally shouted at us: "Go and do this in your country!". Wow! What a gentleman, we were so astonished we just payed and went away.

Additionally, the portions were quite small and not excellent, and worst of all, there where about 6 sauvage cats jumping on the tables and chairs (not looking very healthy either).

I'm used to visit the wonderful Lefkada at least once a year, usually planning a long weekend there. And I've found the perfect spot for me in the wonderful village of Agios Nikitas with its perfect combination of amazing beaches, clear crystal water and relaxing green surrounds. And of course, as often happens when you travel around Greece, I fell in love with this taverna. The perfect position, the amazing food and the very welcoming and warm crew are making the magic. Every time I go there I feel like home. The fish is always super fresh, very well cooked and served, as you can expect in a sea place, but even the meat and the traditional Greek dishes are perfection here. Mussels, moussaka and pork together with a Greek salad have been the actors of my most recent meal there: a success. Everything has been extraordinary and the portions have been, as always, very generous. If love passes through stomach, Agios Nikitas with its taverna Lefteris, has found its perfect way to the heart...

Almost everything was wrong: one starter came after the main meal, dishes were served one by one, with huge delay, so six of us didn't eat at the same time. We were served by four persons and they didn't collabotate well. Four of the five portions were small compared to the usual portions served at similar places, but we weren't hungry. Four of the five dishes weren't tasty as we expected. Some meats were chewy. The domestic white wine was very good. But... the owner created a very nice atmosphere and I'm sure that all numerous mistakes came only from their incapability to serve well many people at once since it was dinner time. So I'll come again because I'm sure that they can do it...
