The best bakery in Corfu. The owner Rosy Soussis is a wonderful person who will explain everything in detail with a lot of patience, and she speaks excellent English. šŸ’• In her bakery you can find a wide range of pastries, from delicious savory Greek pies, to the most diverse and crunchy baklavas, all the way to vegan sweets without sugar, without milk (lactose), without eggs, without butter, without honey and without GLUTEN - what is very important to note is that even people with celiac disease can consume them, since they are produced in a bakery specifically for gluten-free pastries, so there is no contamination from other types of flour, and Rosy is very careful that there is no contamination in the bakery. There is even another smaller bakery at the end of the same street where you can find all baklavas with gluten (there are also several types with stevia so diabetics can consume them as well, e.g. with almonds, walnuts, dates and cocoa, pistachios, coconut, etc.). The prices are a little higher, but considering the quality ingredients used in the production (just to name a few: tapioca/almond/rice/buckwheat flour, dates, pistachios, cocoa, pecans, etc.), it is justified and the taste is magnificent. All in all, a very pleasant and unforgettable experience, highly recommended! A must visit if you are in Corfu Town. Everyone can find something for themselves, for example my boyfriend enjoyed the baklavas as well as the healthier options, which made us return to Rose's Bakery twice! šŸ˜‹ P.S. The first three photos are related to the smaller bakery (where the majority of baklavas are) and the others are related to the main bakery (with gluten-free assortment), I think the address is 71 Paleologu, Corfu Town.

Edit: I went a second time and it was even better. We went all in. We got the orange cake, the baklava with vanilla, and the baklava/kataifi hybrid. These were so amazing. We also got the spinach and feta pie. It was very good. Perfect lunch. I will say that getting three of the items all at once was very rich even split for two. So just keep that in your expectations or plan to have it with coffee or tea. Or save some for later!! Don’t listen to the negative reviews. This place is worth more than she charges. The sweets are outstanding. I tried several others in town and this was the best hands down. I saw her earlier in the morning and asked when she’d close, so that I could come back in the evening. She remembered who my family was and warmly welcomed us. She gives a great little overview of all her selection before you buy. She explains each of them and what she recommends as must haves. I hade the baklava with vanilla and crushed pistachio. It was superb. Truly delightful experience. True hospitality and treated us with care and respect even in a busy peak season tourist heavy town. You don’t get that treatment often in lots of European summer destinations. To those stating it’s overpriced, she has an option to get several sweets into a box for a price of €15. Idk how you could consider that overpriced. If I ever come back to Corfu, I’ll be back. Everyone I know coming to Corfu this summer will know about her shop.

Lady Rose argued with me when I asked her to recommend me traditional Greek sweets and not Turkish ones and she said I am in Corfu not in Istanbul. Then why I see baklava and kataif among her sweets exposed? She is the kind of character that she knows how to take you, she will steal your shoes and sell it to you. She is very polite and friendly, the cakes were not that bad but the fact that she is not transparent with the prices, makes you feel you are cheated in the end. It's a pity she reacts like this as she does not represent the Greek hospitality that I've seen so many times. Real Greeks that knows their business will often loose money and make you feel appreciated and welcomed in their country than take your shirt off you. Looks like the pandemic made us like hienas and we love the money rather than seeing the other people happy. (including myself) For this box, I paid 17€.

Rosy's Bakery - A Delightful Taste of Greek Tradition

If you find yourself in Corfu and have a fondness for traditional Greek baked goods, Rosy's Bakery is an absolute must-visit. This charming bakery effortlessly combines the warmth of Greek hospitality with a tantalizing array of traditional treats.

As you step into Rosy's Bakery, you are immediately enveloped in the comforting aroma of freshly baked pastries. The welcoming atmosphere and friendly staff make you feel right at home. The star of the show here is undoubtedly their exceptional baklava. Each bite is a harmonious blend of delicate, flaky pastry layers, expertly soaked in just the right amount of syrup and filled tantalizingly with a nutty mixture from the heavens. The balance of sweetness and nuttiness is sheer perfection. Rosy's Bakery has truly mastered the art of creating this Greek delicacy.

While the baklava is reason enough to visit, the real gem of Rosy's Bakery lies in their baked feta filo pastry served in hot honey and sesame seeds. Every bite is an explosion of flavors, with the crispy, golden filo pastry giving way to a creamy, rich feta cheese filling. The combination of the warm, sticky honey infused with the nutty sesame seeds adds a unique twist that elevates this dish to extraordinary heights. It's a true testament to the creativity and skill of the bakers at Rosy's.

Apart from the stellar baklava and feta pastry, Rosy's Bakery also offers a wide selection of other Greek pastries and desserts. Each item is baked with love and attention to detail, resulting in a mouthwatering assortment that will leave you spoilt for choice.

The staff at Rosy's Bakery are not only experts in their craft but also incredibly friendly and passionate about their creations. They are always ready to assist and guide you in your selection, ensuring that you leave the bakery with a smile on your face and a bag full of delectable treats.

Whether you are a tourist in search of an authentic Greek experience or a local looking for a taste of nostalgia, Rosy's Bakery will undoubtedly leave you satisfied. With their dedication to preserving traditional Greek baking techniques and their innovative twists on classic recipes, Rosy's Bakery stands out as a beacon of excellence in Corfu.

Take a stroll to Rosy's Bakery, indulge in their baklava and baked feta filo pastry, and let the flavors transport you to streets lined with whitewashed buildings and azure blue seas. Your taste buds will thank you for this glorious journey into the heart of...

We came across Rose's Bakery and couldnt resist the pastries.

As we were kindly informed about the differences about the baklava and others pastries, we were told the prices for what we wanted.

I ordered a Greek coffee with the pastries which unfurtunately wasn't good nor quite drinkable. But that just could be the type of coffee, just my taste.

What made the experience quite unsatisfying was the conversation afterwards as we wanted to pay. Our bill was 13,80 euros. For 3 sweet pastries (which certainly were good) an the coffee.

As I paid I was asked, that she wanted me to write a review, telling that she informed about the price in advance. I honestly replied, that thinking about that, I have to calculated because the price seems quite unreasonable. Not because of the sweets, but because of the 5-6 euros for the Coffee. Then I was told, that the coffee is 4,50, what is a normal price for coffee in the area (which is not, as I later saw an many menues coffees for 2- 3 Euro). But regarding that, the prices I have been told in advance weren't accurate, as that have should been around 8 euros. Whatever... I wouldn't questioned the bill, if not I was told to tell about my experience and the transparency of the prices, which indeed wasnt there.

Also I want to state out, that we have been told approx. prices, due to the fact that the sweets get weighted. But when I came to pay, she forgot, what we had, I told her and just then she calculated which seems more by emotional than by any kind of...
