We had an unpleasant experience on our Tuesday dinner. Food was decent but their signature dish which was the Greek plate felt quite badly composed, big majority of it felt really homogeneous - deep fried, heavy and blunt in favours. Have to say that canapes with feta were really good - a relief in the deep fried pile.
In terms of customer service we had an unpleasant incident. The waiter misunderstood us while getting our order and has only put through one main instead of 2 as a result we ended up waiting for about an hour for the full order. They haven't check how we are doing and how the other main is, so if you re there make sure to let them know if something is not going right. When we told them we are still waiting they have tried to balme the fault on us saying we haven't said what we wanted clearly - even though we have actually showed them a picture of what exactly we wanted. Felt quite unprofessional.
At the end we have been given complimentary ice cream and raki. They told us it's on the house - as if it was a compensation for the misunderstanding and the long wait. Actually everyone else got the ice cream and the alcohol which felt that it actually wasn't 'on them' but just part of the experience.
In the end we felt kind of left out and...
Read moreAn adorable taverna female owned and run. A mother and daughter will delight you with authentic Creatan food that was hands down the best Greek food I had on the island. So good, I ate here twice. You can’t go by the zucchini balls, stuffed mushrooms, Creatan pies or the delicious homemade Taramosalata dip. If meat is what you are after, the mixed grill is fantastic and for seafood overs, the Calamari or Octopus in red wine sauce is all you’ll need. The 15-year-old tree is the heart of the taverna, growing horizontally to create a beautiful canopy to sit under with your food all year round. The atmosphere is delightful, the staff are so kind, both your stomach, heart and wallet will be grateful you went here for dinner. Live Greek music on Sundays are also a treat! Would highly...
Read moreThis place had great potential. The food was palatable but lacked anything special and was expensive compared to other, more authentic places in the area. The service, however, was something else. We ordered water with our meal, we had to remind them twice and the garlic bread, suggested by the waiter, we had to ask for at least three times and it eventually arrived almost as a desert! The waiters clearly did not have their eye on the ball. A young couple with a young child waited for over half an hour and eventually left, I felt so sorry for the little boy in particular as he was under 2 years old. I've actually never experienced such negligent service. We won't be going again. The only thing we could recommend were the...
