We were on holiday in Chania and decided to go this place. When we arrived at the restaurant, there was a large group standing near the entrance. Not wanting to cut in front of anyone, we politely asked if they were waiting in line. They told us they were not waiting and that we could go ahead.
Then, suddenly, a tall, bald, rude, and arrogant man came out and very aggressively told us to move away from the entrance, claiming that there were people waiting before us. My husband calmly explained that we had already asked the group outside and they told us they were not waiting. The man became furious, shouted at my husband and said: “No one asked you to go and check who is waiting! Mind your own business, I know who is waiting! Don’t talk, go to the back!”
We were shocked but we explained again that we only asked because we didn’t want to skip the line, but he kept shouting, saying: “It’s none of your business who is waiting, I work here not you!” He was extremely rude, disrespectful, and aggressive.
To make sure, we went back to the group that he claimed they were waiting and asked again. They told us: “No, we’re not waiting , we already ate there and left. One of us just went inside to use the bathroom, that’s why we’re standing here.”
Waiter bald guy kept angrily muttering while staring at us. Not only us, but also the large group was shocked too. At that point, we simply left and went to another restaurant.
I don’t know if the food is good, because we were verbally attacked at the entrance and we couldn’t enter. Honestly, even if this place serving the best food in the world, I wouldn’t set foot there because they employ people like that.
I would NEVER recommend this place to anyone. I have never in my life seen such an arrogant, disrespectful guy. He was shouting to us, disrespectful with full of ego and completely unprofessional behavior. This was by far one of the rudest experiences I...
Read moreWe went to this restaurant and were brought in with the promise of great, authentic greek food. This promise was strengthened by their catchphrase, “no good, no pay!” So, we were convinced. We sat down, got our menus, and ordered shortly after: a “meat platter” for €17, tzatziki for €4, and extras were pita, a salad, water (bottled). When we first arrived at the restaurant, we questioned the host about the meat platter, making sure there would be a large variety of meats on it. The food arrives, and smack in the middle of the “meat platter” dish was a HUGE stuffed pepper with - rice. We were not told about this nor did we order it. Along with that was some veggie square. Both these NON-meat add-ons were not tasty, overcooked, and uncalled for - only put there to make the platter seem more filling. The meat itself was delicious - the 4 or 5 bites that we actually got! There was a well-seasoned steak bite, no bigger than 1/2 square inch, a small meatball, and a chicken leg. These were all tasty. When we wanted to bring the attention to the waiter about the veggies we didn’t order, there was no one in sight. Not a single person checked on us throughout the entire meal until we asked for the check. When we did so, we complained about the mushy rice and square veggie “thing” - only to receive a rude response of “well, we gave that for you extra. It’s delicious. Your problem that you didn’t like it.” We were quite taken aback and could not for the life of us believe that there would be such a small amount of meat on a “meat platter.” Overall, we enjoyed the meat and tzatziki, but would not come back due to terrible service and breaking the promise of “no good, no...
Read moreWe chose this place for lunch, since it was the only place where it looked like they could make room for a big party (there were 8 of us including a toddler). The menu was huge, and in various languages, but very horribly translated. It was quite difficult to know what the different dishes came with and we all kind of panicked when the waiter asked us, if we were ready to order for the third time. We ordered tzatziki with bread for all of us, and most of us went with the gyros and some shared the mixed grill for two. To be honest, we did expect this food to be less than good, since everything in this place was kinda dirty and sticky - my shirt kept sticking to the back of my chair. The tzatziki was served, but we had expected it to be served with pita, but only the tzatziki was served, so apparently we had to just eat it with the really dry bread that was served when we sat down. We all took tzatziki on our plates, but a few minutes after, a waitress came and took our plates away, but luckily some of us did manage to stop her - not something she liked, and she seemed like we did her wrong. But come on, we were still eating. Our main dishes were served, and it was actually really good. The mixed gill was very big, and delicious. After we were done, we got pound cake, ice cream and raki, on the house. So to sum everything up, the food was good, the service was mixed and the place was dirty. I'm sure you can find somewhere...
