Pasta Alla Mano - Handmade Pasta — Restaurant in Municipality of Chania

Don't even come here. You are expected to order and pay at the counter first, it's some kind of "self-service" as they advertise.

They do not let you use the wc until you have paid, which is ridiculous. We wanted to use to restroom before placing the order so we could wash our hands and peacefully check the menu. Not possible.

Apparently the waiter handed us a menu with different prices, and when we were placing the order, they wanted to charge us more money. When asked why, the lady who seemed to run the place started shouting at us. Full-blown screams as if we had just insulted her family tree. She shouted that we should have checked the menu in the stand, that it was our fault for not reading, and that we had taken the faulty menus on purpose (mind you, the waiter handed these to us).

Upon seeing how disrespectful the lady was, we just left. She could have calmly explained the confusion and we would have paid the price difference, but such treatment does not deserve a penny of my hard-earned money. I advice you all to...

Five stars all around for this fabulous pasta restaurant! The owner, Liana, is the loveliest person. She greeted me and my son with open arms and recommended the Shepherd’s for him (he loves truffles and mushrooms) and the Fisherman (shrimp) for me! Both were delicious and together it was €21! Iliana showed us photos of her dogs, which she says are known for hunting truffles! The pasta was so flavorful and cooked perfectly. This place is literally two blocks from the main bus station and on the way to the old port. You can dine in, which we did after a long day at Stavros Beach, or take it to go. Please stop by and give a hug to Iliana!! Yasis!! FYI, we returned two days later, and Liana remembered us. She was as warm and lovely as the day we met her and even gave my son a free drink! This time we both ordered the Shepherd’s, and it was outstanding! My son can’t stop talking about it and wants to return once again...

One of the best pastas we have ever tried, the pasta itself was perfect texture and very tasty. The portion is so big that I was full for very long, and I am a big guy. We were so excited by the quality of the food and service that we went again after only two days, it is that good. Beef ragu was very good but the pearl of this place is definitely Shepherd pasta with truffle sauce, its gonna make you want to lick the sauce of the container like a little kid after eating icecream. The owner is the prime example of Cretan hospitality, adorable lady who take her time with every guest to explain about the food they serve. Her smile and energy is out of this world, it truly shows she absolutely loves her job and thats why this food cant fail. She remembered us when we came for second time and even gave us complimentary garlic bread with our regular order. This is a place that we will definitely visit every time we come...
