We arrived about 1700 and there were no guests at the seaside tables and only two very young women sitting in the loungers smoking a hookah. We walked up and no one greeted us, as most of the other little seaside places do. After a moment, we sat down and waited for a little bit only to have one of the wait staff walk over to inform us that we needed to get up and move as the loungers we were sitting in were "reserved at 8pm". He was exceptionally rude about it to which I asked why they didn't place "reserved" placards if that was the case. He just stared. No offer for another table, no offer for ANYTHING. We got up and walked down to Debonair - Café Bistrot whereby we had impeccable, polite service, wonderful drinks, desert, and coffee. Thank you for your horrible behavior sir so that we could have a much more positive experience with your competitor...
Read moreI honestly don’t understand how this hookah lounge has such a high rating. I asked for minimal freshness — they added about 20% mint. When I asked to remake it, the freshness stayed the same, but the flavor got even worse.
The hookah makers clearly don’t know how to pack a bowl properly. They overpack it so much that the tobacco sticks directly to the Kaloud, causing harsh bitterness and a strong burning in the throat.
Also, the way they prepare the hookah is wrong from the start. The water was completely black because they packed the bowl while it was already connected to the stem filled with water. A lot of tobacco fell into the base. That’s not how it’s done.
To be clear: always pack the bowl separately, then fill the base with fresh water and assemble. Don’t mix it all together — it ruins the...
Read moreNice location, delicious cocktails and tasty hookahs. I rate 4 stars because of two things: first the cocktails, being tasty and reasonably priced (7-10€), but they’re served in a glass that looks like something Grandpa Manoli would serve his 2€ house wine in (see picture). Come on guys, presentation is key! Second are the hookahs. First of all, we had the best hookah here in all our Crete vacation, by far! However we were sad to learn that almost none of the flavors were available, including our favorite ‘Grape Mint’. Also, after a great, tasteful and smoky start the Shisha began to get worse after around 30 minutes, and nobody cared to replenish the coal, as it is common in most bars. What a bummer, we could have gotten way more...
