This one is a bit tricky to sum up. The owner is genuinely a good guy — funny, full of local history, and clearly proud of his family (loved the photo wall, especially the picture of him at age 10). Service was quick, food came out fast, and that’s always a plus.
The outdoor seating really delivers: deep shade under the trees with a great view, the kind of spot where you can just exhale and relax. Photos don’t lie here. But I have to say, the place feels a little worn out. The chairs are saggy, not exactly comfortable — maybe that’s the trick to stop guests from settling in forever 😉. Walking through the indoor area to reach the terrace, you do notice a lot of clutter and hoarding, as if winter storage never got cleared away.
Prices are fair: small fizzy drinks €3.20, starters around €8–9, chicken souvlaki €10. The starters were solid, with lovely tomatoes, and my fried baby squid was delicious. Unfortunately, my husband’s souvlaki was undercooked, and that put a dent in the mood.
Still, perfection isn’t what you look for in real life. Despite the quirks, we enjoyed our visit and thank the owners for the...
Read moreI ordered the greek salad, tzatziki and fried calamari. Everything was alright, but the calamari wasn’t as crispy as I’ve had in other places. I’m not sure if the tzatziki had any garlic. I visited alone so for me the portion sizes were way too big, but the staff brought me takeaway boxes without even asking! I loved that! The restaurant wasn’t too busy, I got a whole table (meant for 4 people) even though I was alone, and got to see the sunset from the best table possible! As a solo traveler I actually liked that the waiters weren’t always around asking questions, they let me sit there in peace for 2 beautiful hours.
All in all not the best food but a beautiful view, I’d recommend to visit this place for the vibe, especially if you’re with friends
They also bring you a complimentary dessert, greek yoghurt with orange syrup &...
Read moreThis place never disappoints. The food is obviously delicious. I especially love their bread combined with the tzatziki, their swordfish as well as their Cretan salad. The complementary dessert with ouzo are a real treat as well. The setting, although very laidback, is super romantic with seaside tables and amazing sunsets. It’s really the type of place you expect to see on Instagram or in movies. It’s my favorite spot whenever I am in Chania and I keep going back because none of the other restaurants really ever give me the same magical feeling as when I am here. Another benefit is that there is always a light breeze, so even on a hot day it is nice hanging out in the shade of the trees and once the suns sets it only gets more magical as lights strung through the...
