When I had the pleasure of my dear niece visiting me in Athens, I wanted to take her to some special dinner. We tried the Greek ones already, so I was thinking about introducing her to something more exotic, a Middle-East experience. I have visited Lebanon innumerable time and love the Lebanese cuisine, so when I found the Lebanese restaurant in Glyfada, I hoped this was the right place to go. It was, by all means. The food and drinks were genuine; I’ve ordered what I knew from Beirut and it tasted exactly as there – from the tabbouleh and hummus, the fresh pita bread, ayran (or shaneenah as it is named in other Arabic countries, close but not the same as the Greek ariani), meat mezze, to the delicious coffee with cardamom flavour and sweets matching it as nothing else.
