La Casa Di Giorgino — Restaurant in Municipality of Glyfada

It is unfortunate that I have to leave a low review for this place as I had good expectations. We walked out of our way to come here, and came because it had a slightly higher rating.

There was a general distrust from staff when we arrived, very slow to come and ask us what we wanted or to clean table, but main reason I have to give the review is they brought us 'complimentary' bruschetta on stale bread and then charged us 8 euros at the end. My wife stated in Greek 'we didn't order this' and the waitress said 'we bring it anyway'. This isn't standard practice to charge and we are three native Greek speakers.

Beyond that the food was thoroughly average, a calabrese pizza with maybe five pieces of pepperoni. A salad with very old rocket. The food was rough but I'm a live and let live guy, but to give us that slop bruschetta and charge for it is straight thievery. The food was not good, the vibe was grim, happy to never come back and an unfortunate choice on your part to choose the quick extort over the long game. When I challenged it as a 'misunderstanding' I gave the opportunity to fix it but nothing was offered.

Only redeeming feature was the risotto. Passable. But still can't give two stars. This is the kind of place that makes no effort, with the food, or the service, and expects nothing to require a change. I gave a fair chance to apologise and fix it up, no move made. Perhaps you 'win' 8 euros of rort, but is it worth it?

Not sure what to say, do I need to photograph the itemised receipt where you charged for 5 dishes where only 4 were ordered, where the fifth was the 8 euro bruschetta? Perhaps I should have as you are now asserting the price is different and we were asked. We weren't. In Greece small complimentary items are common. To bring food that isn't asked for and then charge high amounts, is not common. It is not Lisbon. The problem with Glifada is you think you can charge anything and people will just pay it to avoid embarrassment. 58€ for that meal which consisted of parmagianno risotto, calabrese salad, calabrese pizza (which was a disgrace) and a bolognese, plus then the extra bruschetta we didn't order, is insane. (plus half litre house white).

The absolute worst value meal, and one of the worst quality I've had in Greece. And, now dishonesty on the price, not unexpected.

Not a problem, happy to avoid eating in Glifada where I can possibly avoid it, and putting review here just to help others in a similar situation. Would avoid and go to two other pasta places within 100m every...

Trafiliśmy tam zupełnie przypadkiem, po dniu spędzonym na nieodległej plaży Glyfada Beach. W poszukiwaniu drogi do planowanej stekowni, która wskoczyła nam na radar dzięki Google Maps, zagubiliśmy się w labiryncie okolicznych jednokierunkowych uliczek. Podczas tej zagubionej części drogi, najpierw przypadkowo natrafiliśmy na genialny sklep z owocami i warzywami, których wybór po prostu zachwycił nas - chcieliśmy kupić je wszystkie!

Następnie, w bocznej uliczce, naszym oczom ukazała się klimatyczna włoska Trattoria. Coś w niej nas urzekło i skłoniło do porzucenia pierwotnych planów na rzecz eksploracji kulinarnych doznań w Trattoria La Casa di Giorginio. I nie zawiedliśmy się!

Już od samego wejścia uderzył nas przyjemny aromat, zapowiadający prawdziwą ucztę dla podniebienia. Wnętrze restauracji emanowało niepowtarzalnym urokiem, a serdeczna obsługa błyskawicznie postawiła na naszym stole gorące bruschetty i wodę, aby umilić oczekiwanie na główne dania.

Nasze zamówienia - burrata, spaghetti carbonara, spaghetti pesto oraz veal fillet z sosem z zielonego pieprzu - okazały się prawdziwym festiwalem smaków. Burrata z soczystymi pomidorami rozpływała się w ustach, carbonara zachwyciła nawet najbardziej wymagające podniebienia, a spaghetti pesto zniknęło z talerza w ogóle bez zbędnych słów.

Veal fillet, królewskie danie, przygotowane medium rare, było prawdziwym dziełem sztuki kulinarnego mistrzostwa, które wprawiło mnie w stan zachwytu. Aromat, wygląd i smak tego dania były po prostu nieziemskie - prawdziwa uczta dla zmysłów. Dla takich chwil warto żyć!

Nie mogliśmy też odmówić sobie rozkoszy deserów, które tym razem postanowiliśmy uwiecznić na zdjęciach, bo wcześniej nasza główna uwaga była skupiona wyłącznie na delektowaniu się tym, co znalazło się przed nami na talerzach. Brownie, lody czekoladowe, panna cotta i tiramisu - każdy z tych deserów był wyjątkowy i rozgrzewał nasze serca swoim niepowtarzalnym smakiem.

Po zakończonym posiłku nie mogliśmy się powstrzymać od wyrażenia naszego zachwytu obsłudze oraz kuchni restauracji. Dowiedzieliśmy się także, że lokal prowadzi małżeństwo, a w kuchni stoi prawdziwy mistrz kulinarnego fachu. Co więcej, okazało się, że wszyscy troje są Grekami, co sprawiło, że nasze doświadczenie smakowe zyskało dodatkowy wymiar.

Podsumowując, nie możemy znaleźć słów tak dobrych aby polecić Trattoria La Casa di Giorginio wystarczająco gorąco - to miejsce, gdzie jedzenie staje się prawdziwą przyjemnością dla wszystkich zmysłów, a atmosfera sprawia, że chce się tam wracać znów i znów. Musicie tego spróbować!

First and foremost: I have rarely met such amazing service. The personal is friendly and thorough. They will make sure to make you feel at home. The food was excellent as well. I got a piece of Bruschetta offered by the staff, followed by a main that I ordered (Calzone). The dough of the Calzone was soft and it was filled with plenty of ingredients. The taste was fresh and full, a perfect mix for what I hoped for. For dessert, I ordered a Tiramisu, which was with a surprising twist: crunchy. The ladyfingers in the tiramisu weren't fully soaked, yet still soft for an easy bite, covered with the mascarpone cream, you would expect. All in all tasty and very enjoyable.
