Respectful and kind servants, medium atmosphere but the Food! We really didn’t expect such thing in Glyfada! Where most of the restaurant are authentic and reputable. We ordered chicken Shish/kebab (on skewer) ,and beef Kebab ( minced beef on skewer) as main dish and Falafel and Lahmacun as starter. Once they served Lahmacun, the bad smell of the meat could be felt from the distance (something like rotten meat and or having inedible offals and fats mixed!!!) also overcooked on the edges. Then Falafel came overcooked with very very bitter Taxini sauce. ( so threw out our money on starter) Kebab from main dish again smelled terrible the same as Laxmacun (same meat) and the only dish which we could eat normally was chicken. Suddenly we noticed everyone else around us, they ordered just chicken kebab!? Strange. I asked them to change the Kebab to chicken and they replaced it after half an hour! At last a kind servant treated us with ice cream. I’ve tasted a lot of Kebab in many different tavern in Greece but this one was really the first disgusting and suspicious one. Hard also to find a parking spot. Don’t recommend. You can’t find also anywhere their English name as it’s shown on the Google map (The President) Their Greek name is Πρόεδρος ( Proedros) which is written on the entrance. So you should use a translator to see if you arrived in the right...
Read moreFantastic souvlaki house in Glyfada - my favourite so far!! Everything I've tasted here has been great but my particular favourite and what I will keep coming back for is the spiced beef sausage souvlaki in pitta (σουβλάκι πίττα λουκάνικο). It is also excellent value, quite cheap considering the quality. The waiting staff are also very friendly and helpful. The other meal in the photo was pork giros with yoghurt and pitta on the bottom (γιαουρτλου), also delicious! This place has been so tastefully designed, it almost has a Greek island feel to it, which isn't too far fetched given it is a short walk from the sea. Perfect to walk off some of your dinner (before going for an ice cream of course!) There are indoor and outdoor tables and they have good awnings for most outdoor seats in the event the heavens open while you're having dinner (which happened to us on one occasion!)...
Read moreWe just finished a wonderful dinner on a balmy Glyfada evening. Wow!!!! How can such simple food taste so amazing? We started with baked peppers done salad style. Perfectly cooked, superbly seasoned with the magnificent Greek olive oil, origano and course granules of salt. The Armyra salad, you just have to try this and the Melitzanosalata (perfectly grilled and slightly smoked eggplant roughly chopped up into a salad). Once again perfection. The rose wine served was the perfect accompaniment. As a vegetarian, that food was to die for, but when the kalamakia of pork and chichen arrived, we definitely went to heaven. The kalamakia were skewers with the most perfectly cooked and spiced meat imaginable. If I wasn't full, I'd have ordered another lot. Delicious is such an understatement for this food. Beautifull environment, friendly people and subtle Greek music in...
