We recently discovered this new Italian restaurant right on the main road by the seaside, and it completely exceeded our expectations. From the moment we arrived, everything felt just right — the warm, welcoming staff, the stylish atmosphere, and the gentle sea breeze setting the perfect tone for our evening.
What truly sets this place apart is the incredible value for money. The quality, quantity, and pricing are balanced in a way that’s so rare these days. It’s refreshing to enjoy generous portions with bold, exciting flavors — a far cry from the tiny portions of overpriced “gourmet” places.
We started with the goat cheese with forest berries (absolutely amazing!) and arancini, which were perfectly cooked and full of flavor. For mains, we had the risotto with scallops, salmon caviar, chili, and black ink — a stunning dish that tasted like the sea in the best way, rich and creamy with every bite.
Then came the Nduja pizza — my first time trying nduja, and I was blown away. The crust was perfection, and the combination of spicy nduja, top-quality ingredients, and that incredible burrata cheese “bomb” on top was easily one of the most unforgettable flavor experiences I’ve had.
We ended the meal with a delightful semi-freddo ice cream and a millefeuille that was hands down the crunchiest and most satisfying I’ve ever tried.
The wine list deserves its own praise — an extensive selection of top-rated Italian and Greek wines, including exceptional local options from Kos.

Read moreWe recently returned from Kos and visited Barolo on our last night after walking past it a few times and being impressed with how it looked and it always seemed busy.
The restaurant was busy when we went but this did not affect the service or food.
It has a lovely atmosphere and the staff are extremely attentive and friendly.
I have a nut allergy and when I told the waitress she ensured this was communicated to the chefs and came back to double check things with me before processing which I thought was extremely efficient and put me at ease which is often difficult to find when eating abroad.
Once we had ordered our food, it was served in a good amount of time. We had arancini balls and a bread selection to start which was all delicious. We then had pepperoni pizza and beef ragu ravioli for mains which again was great.
Unfortunately we were too full to try the desserts! But they looked and sounded delicious too!
They have a wide variety of drinks available. We had a few cocktails which were made very well and we enjoyed very much.
Overall, we had a great experience at Barolo and if we return to Kos we would definitely be going again and would recommend to everyone! Especially if you love an Italian menu.

I recently dined at Barolo and it was an absolute delight! The food was exquisite, showcasing authentic Italian flavors that left me wanting more. Each dish was beautifully presented and tasted as good as it looked. The service was impeccable. Our host and manager were incredibly attentive and made us feel welcomed throughout our visit.
