I had seen and heard the hype around this restaurant. I really expected to love this place and ended up not having a great experience. I want to start by saying that it is a lovely location across from a beach and has a nice ambiance. We were there on a weeknight in October and only waited 10 minutes or so for a table without a reservation. We started with the house wine, which was very good. I let our server know right away that I was gluten free, and he seemed to understand clearly. We took his suggestion for a green salad (that was delicious!). I let him know that I was interested in having one of the pork dishes, and he made a suggestion that I went along with. When my entree was delivered, it did not seem to match the description of either of the pork dishes I saw on the menu. I tried it, and did not like it at all, as it did not even seem to be pork. It took forever for the server to return, but when he did come back, I asked him what it was and he explained that it was goat. I repeated that I had asked for a pork dish and informed him that I didn't care for goat. He just shrugged and took it away, but not off the bill even though I had not eaten it. I later discovered that the salad we were served had rusk as an ingredient which is gluten. Unfortunately, I was not familiar with it, and didn't know ahead of time to avoid it. I'm a little bummed because we think the experience would have been better with another server. Aside from the gluten and goat incidents, ours didn't have much personality. We observed other staff members engaging more with their tables. The saving grace was a 16 year old kid that seemed to be a "jack of all trades" as we saw him seating people and bussing tables. We had a lovely conversation with him towards the end of the evening and we chatted for quite a while about various things like travel, his love of basketball, and his mom that worked in the kitchen. This kid had personality! Our interaction with him made an otherwise mediocre experience end on...

The atmosphere is very very nice. The service whoever is very disorganized and ended up not being so friendly. Tried it first as 20:30 on a Saturday and we were told that the waiting time was 1h20. Came back on a Monday at 19:30 and the waiting time was 1h10. You can wait on the beach and the waiting will ask your order on drinks and starters, unfortunately she never came to ask us what we would like to get so we didn’t had any. After 1h we got into the restaurant and the ambience is great. The menu can be a little bit overwhelming because it’s handwritten and it’s giant (we didn’t understood that it was written in several languages), asked 1 waiter for help and he was sarcastic and said “maybe it’s written in a lot of languages” The food came to the table not even 5 minutes after we ordered , which gives the impression everything was already done. This means that the mains arrived at the same time that the starters and that they were cold by the time we started eating it. Despite a little bit cold, everything tasted really good and that’s the only reason this review has stars. In the end, we were waiting for someone to ask the bill to for about 55 minutes. We were in a table at the corner and they looked at us and just straight ignored, there were 2 table that started having dinner after we finished our meal, ate theirs, payed and left and no one even brought us the desert menu. There were tables with no one sitting on them for long periods of time and people just kept waiting outside for a place do get dinner. By the time we were done and just wanted to pay and leave I just had to get up and wait standing by their balcony so I could pay and leave.

It’s a great place, with great food but unfortunately it really lacked...

I want to preface by saying the food at this restaurant was amazing. We loved every bite. However, the service was absolutely disgraceful. I never write bad reviews, but the way we were treated was unacceptable. We arrived at the restaurant at around 10:30 and knew what we wanted to order in about 5-10 minutes. The next hour no waitwr came to our table at all, and we had to wave waiters and runners down. All of them were making eye contact with us but no one was coming. Around 11 a runner came and said your waiter is on the way, but the waiter didn’t come until 11:30. I understand restaurants can be busy, but there were so many people working - if you are understaffed as waiters, promote the runners or take less people in, don’t give tables to customers if you’re not going to provide adequate service - it is also not that hard to take an order. The waiter was also rude, which we did not appreciate. He took the table order next to us, but did not come to us despite us asking nicely to - he could have easily taken our order after theirs. The food took another 45 minutes to come, while the food was excellent, it was not worth the horrible service. Furthermore, nobody told us the kitchen was closing and we saw the closing time was at 11:45 so we were flagging down many waiters and runners, with everyone making eye contact and not coming. So when the food came and we asked to order more, they said sorry the kitchen is closed. We did try to order before the kitchen closed but nobody was coming to us !!! It was disgraceful !! Also, when we got the bill the waiter slammed it on our table and left without saying a word - that says it about...

I know this restaurant is highly rated but honestly our experience here was terrible. Firstly let me say the food is fantastic you won't be disappointed in that regard. When it comes to service this was by far and away our worst experience in Greece. This restaurant has a no reservation policy which is fine. We waited around 50 minutes for a table to become available. I would advise anyone wanting to go to this restaurant to get there before 6:30pm because you will be waiting over an hour if you don't. It was upon being seated that the issues started to arise. We were given menus which were hand written which is awesome. My partner and I reviewed and decided what we would like. Unfortunately we were sitting there for around 40 minutes while waiters were serving almost every table around us. We had to ask twice for our order to be taken. There was a lady who seemed to be designated to our area as she was very open and attentive to literally every other table but ours which we could not understand. The food came out in a respectable time and it was absolutely delicious. The same lady was still ignoring us however and again we had to ask twice for another drink. Once our table was cleared we waited and waited and eventually asked for the cheque. I honestly think we could've left here without paying and they wouldn't have realised. In summary we loved the food but the service was abysmal particularly the lady who was serving tables in our area. It simply should be much better than what we experienced.

Very nice tavern across from the beach, with a great atmosphere. Vines cover the trellis so it’s very comfortable. They don’t take reservations and we were fortunate to get seated immediately on a Saturday night. We were eating with two children (5,9) and two adults. It’s a busy place so my expectations of service were modest, but we were sat and after 15 minutes an ashtray was delivered, and we asked to speak to a waiter. After another wait we finally got menus and ordered about 45 minutes after we sat down. So no drinks or anything for that time which was a little frustrating. When we did order they put the kids food in first with the appetizers which was nice, but that was the last contact with the waiter we had for the entire meal. We had wanted to order another round of drinks, but finally after nearly 2.5 hours we had enough and asked another server who was walking by to get our waiter. He then informed us that he was our waiter and if we needed anything and I just asked for the check. I think he sensed my frustration and I didn’t want to escalate anything so we just paid our bill and left. Food wise, it was pretty good except for the lamb chops, which were cooked to a point of leather and the “chops” were the smallest I’ve ever seen. My wife had a very nice goat dish that was excellent along with the tzatziki. The frustrating part was that the tables beside ours were given constant attention and we would have happily ordered more food and drinks had they asked.

Overall, our meal was good and I enjoyed most of it. The best part of our meal was the piglet (tasted like Chinese braised pork in soya sauce) and the bread (it was warm with some oil on top). We ordered based on our server’s recommendations. Apparently the green beans were in season, but I recommend NOT ordering these as they are cold and bland. As per picture, they were also limp and there was nothing appetizing about it. We saw people order a salad with figs, which probably would have been a better choice for the greens. The chickpea dish tasted like any other chickpea dish at an Indian restaurant since it was cooked in a curry. This one is also a popular dish, but I didn’t find anything special about it since I’ve had it before at many Indian restaurants. Maria’s spicy cheese dish was okay and it tasted like topping from a pizza since you had veggies mixed with cooked cheese. I wouldn’t say it was spicy at all though and this is from someone who always orders mild. The people at the restaurant were very nice and we liked the ambience of the outdoors. They do not take reservations so avoid between 2-4 pm and 8 pm onwards which is a busy time for them. However there’s a beach across the street where you can sit and wait for a table! All in all, I expected a bit more given the hype and reviews on Google. Edit: on our second visit, we were delighted with our meal and had the green salad, pies, veal skewers and orange cake. Highly recommended!
