Bonbonniere Mykonos — Restaurant in Municipality of Mykonos

Terrible profiling. Tonight we were a group of girls (students from Canada and America) and one guy. Generally us girls have gotten in to any club we want to no problem, without cover and generally get free drinks. However this was the second time we had come here, and this time we had tried to have our sisters boyfriend come in who is British but is half Jamaican and has dreads. I was speaking to the girl at the front about coming in and she went to go grab the guy that seems to have been in charge of which/ how many patrons are able to enter the club. This man eventually came out and told us that they were completely packed and to come back at a later time. We ended up leaving, and that's when my sisters boyfriend told me that the bouncer came up to him and said "you better not have any weed on you." After hearing this I walked straight back to the club and spoke with the man in charge of entrance and told him what his bouncer just said. He told me that his bouncer was "just joking" that he is "a big Teddy Bear" and that he just said that because our friend looks like Bob Marley. He apologized and told us to come back for drinks later. We then left and had some drinks at a few bars and came back. At this point the girl at the front tells us she can let a few of us girls in but not all of us. We told our other friends (including my sisters boyfriend with the dreads) and they said they would just come in a bit later. I turned back around and the guy in charge of entrance says "you know we're charging for cover now right?" I was surprised since we had gotten in free the night before and we had just got done talking to this girl about coming in, and we had been there earlier this same night but were told it was too full for us to come in. I told him the girl had just told us we could come in, and she said, "oh I never said anything about price." At this point I looked at the guy in shock and was ready to turn around and leave, but then the guy said I'm sorry just come on in. As I was walking in he grabs my arm and tells me, "oh I talked to my bouncer and he said he smelled like weed." Absolute bullshit. None of us--including my sisters boyfriend with dreads smokes weed. We're all Law Students and Medical students with scholarships to lose if we were ever caught with weed. This guy then just tells us to have a good night. I get in there and the club was empty on the inside. I was furious that I had been lied to and that my sisters boyfriend had been profiled so we left. As we left I turned back around to ask the guy where all of this was coming from tonight, why they were behaving this way. The man at the entrance tried to apologize and told me "it's been a weird night, im sorry, we generally let in pretty girls like you cover free but a certain time we start charging...i'm sorry let me buy you a few drinks." I told him we were going to just go meet our friend at another club. This was all extremely upsetting. Luckily there are lots of wonderful bars on this same strip with great music, and kind good spirited people who did not profile our friend. However, this really put a damper on our night. If you have a friend with you who has dreads, or is black, beware he may not be allowed entry, and may be harassed about looking like/smelling like he has weed. Absolutely disappointing. The overall vibe of this place is terrible. Walked past this place multiple times and thought it would be ok. Went to go in and the girl at the front entrance was incredibly rude, she had such an attitude of superiority. Never felt more uncomfortable, and encouraged to spend my money elsewhere. I will never spend my money here because of the girl with the blonde fringe at the front. She entertained us for a second but because we didn’t want to enter straight away, she completely ignored us and talked to other people through us and dismissed us completely basically telling us to F off (with dismissing gestures). This place is is great… then it’s horrible. We were inside for about an hour and had bout 3 drinks each. We were having a great time and excited to be in mykanos… THEN… we took one step outside into the open for a breath of air and some short bald guy said we could not stand there because we didn’t have a “reservation”. It went from Great to horrible in about 3 seconds. We tried talking to the guy to understand but he was unreasonable and completely rude.
