This place is not it. And I will stand by my statement. Sorry.
(Just to clarify given the owner’s response: I am not a local guide and am not paid by the owner to leave great reviews. We did have dinner at this place and did experience exactly what is described here. And to be honest: we were the ones shocked by our disappointing experience and paying full price for it, not the owner of the place!)
Overpriced. Starters were alright but mains were blend and below average. And service was horribly slow.
There are better options pretty much all over the island. It is easy to find real Greek food at normal prices but this place is not it. We were advised to go there by a local who claimed to go there himself as the food was typical Greek and very good, and prices reasonable.
But everything was overpriced just like everything in Mykonos Town. When we left the staff was offering 15% discount to new customers (seriously?).
The grilled meat was flavourless, undercooked and grilled in an oven (not on a grill). The anchovies were off a supermarket tub. Vegetables were low quality. Pastas with cream did not include any cream…
Basically they thought they could scam us because we could only be English tourists who like to be scammed eating overpriced, below average food without noticing? And to add insult to injury, the service was extremely slow to the point we were going to leave when they finally brought the mains after waiting nearly a whole hour. But they were keen to get paid in cash when we left! Clearly, do not trust locals and do not trust local...
Read moreDuring our vacation, we walked into a place that had “veal burger” listed on the menu, thinking it would be a nice spot. As soon as we sat down, we were asked if we’d like some water. As we always do, we politely said, “Yes, please.”
While my spouse was placing the order, the waiter mentioned that the veal burger wasn’t actually a hamburger, but rather small pieces of veal served with mini bread. We apologized and explained that we had specifically come in hoping to eat hamburgers. At that point, we hadn’t even taken a sip of the water. Let me be clear: this has nothing to do with the money. We were there for about three minutes in total.
As we were standing up to leave and had wished the staff a good evening, the waiter suddenly rushed in front of us and said, “STOP! You should pay the water,” in a rather panicked and abrupt tone. With everyone watching, we paid the €2 for the water and left the place.
What I want to say—especially to those working in the service industry—is that not everything in life is about money. If the waiter had addressed us with a proper tone instead of abruptly blocking our way and yelling “STOP,” we might have been able to tolerate the situation. But his behavior was extremely rude and...
Read moreVery disappointed. Was coerced in by waitress stating they had the best food. Ordered Greek salad, grilled chicken and meatballs. The Greek salad came out first and it was a good 15 mins before the mains came. The chicken was dry and not seasoned. No dressing or sauce on it. Roast potatoes were new potatoes and cold. The tzatziki was one of the worst I’ve tasted - I could not stomach it. I’ve had tzatziki many times, almost daily so I know what it’s meant to taste like. The meatballs were made of pork - misleading information, this should be disclosed at time of ordering as waitress knew that we did not want pork. There was gristle inside the meatball - it was not soft/minced meat.
We did not eat the mains - and we did ask if we could get a discount, we were happy to pay the drinks, salad and one main. The waitress asked her boss and the answer was a resounding NO - they demanded full payment. So I had no choice but to pay, even though the mains were largely untouched.
It was 60€ - so not a cheap non- meal.
We are Greek so we know what is proper food and what is not.
Would...
