Restaurant Lucky Fish Mykonos — Restaurant in Municipality of Mykonos

So based on reviews, we were very excited to try this place. We'd had THE BEST MEAL IN MIKONOS AT FUNKY KITCHEN and second best at Sale e Pepe, and so we were looking forward to this place. Oh boy... we were so disappointed. Key takeaways: the food is bland, lacks love and originality. It really feels like food dishes out to tourists that is devoid of an understanding of and respect for fish. The best example of this is with the seabass: this is a fish which should be the star and cooked plus presented to demonstrate this and instead this soggy seabass was presented on top of prawns and mussels ???? Just, why? So now when you slice into the seabass it all falls into this seafood sauce and gets lost amidst it all. It makes absolutely no sense, is wasteful and is in poor taste. The prawns were super overcooked. Also this weird dish was presented without bread - god only knows why this chef/restaurant think this is a good dish. The octopus rice dish is suuuuuuper rich, just overwhelmingly so, it needed some parsley and some lemon to break it down, so again, no refined understanding of flavour here. We would not return. They also messed up the order of the people sat beside us and were super rude to them!...

I had booked a table for 4 at lucky fish and we were all excited to go because of the great reviews and the menu looks lovely. On arrival we were told to sit at a table set for 3, which was fine as there was probably enough space if another place was set but when we asked if it was definitely for 4, and before we could ask for an extra place set, the waiter with a ponytail shot us a look and said, in an aggressive tone, “if you don’t like it there’s tables inside”. There were plenty of tables outside too so this behaviour was clearly meant to come across as it did. Of course, we decided to just leave after this (why would you allow this person to serve you all night!). As we were leaving, we explained to him why and instead of apologising to us, he got defensive and told us we were the ones with the problem and he hadn’t done anything wrong. This guy has serious issues. A real shame as it was my last night and we were all going to treat ourselves...

The shrimp ceviche is very tasty(3 stars for this), but the mussels in the main course (sea bass) are not fresh, 2 of them even smelly, I told the waiter, he reported to manger/owner there, then he came back and said sorry to me, nothing else. I’m not trying to blame the waiter, he is nice and I know he has nothing to do with this when his superior doesn’t offer him a solution. My point here is when the problem happens, this restaurant just apologized without any actual action, they will not change a new one for you. They behave like “if you have some stale seafood, WE ARE SORRY FOR YOUR BAD LUCK.”That’s it. Their service and food quality just doesn’t deserve this price, you have better choices in Mykonos with this price. Btw the usual price of still water is 2-3 euro but they charged me for 5 euro. Last not less, be careful when you order mussels and shellfish...
