Tropicana Beach Bar - Restaurant — Restaurant in Municipality of Mykonos

This is your standard beach club that claims and advertises to be a luxurious beach club. My friends and I have seen this club all over social media, and we’re so excited to come on our trip to Mykonos. The service at this place was nonexistent at all. The waiter we had in the morning threw us the menu and then didn’t come back until I called her over. We then got a new server who never came over at all AGAIN until I called him over. We ordered drinks and he acted like he was so confused on what we were ordering even though they were both drinks on the menu. Our reservation was at 11, but we wanted to leave by 12. We decided to stay and see if it would get better. It never did. After they brought us our drinks the waiter never came back to us at all to ask if we wanted another drink or to order food. The only time he spoke to us was when the strong wind blew my friends drink down that was served to her, and he yelled at her as if it was her fault. She had been holding the drink the whole time, and put it down for a minute to grab something out her bag. Finally at 4 PM I called him over to ask for our bill so that we could leave. He then proceeds to act annoyed when I chose not to give him a tip for the zero service he provided. Out of all the beach clubs we have gone to this was by far the worst experience. You might as well go to the local beaches and go to a taverna for lunch. My only positive is that the food was good. However, my food was missing things advertised on the menu. The drinks however were watered down and I would need at least 25 of them to make myself even have close to a buzz. Overall the experience here was one of the worst experiences I have had in all of my time in Europe. If you’re coming to just get drunk and you don’t care about drinks, service, or atmosphere then you’ll be okay here. Do not expect luxury because you will not experience it here. I came to Tropicana based on many great recommendations, but the experience was honestly disappointing.

First of all, sunbeds are $40 per person in the third row, and none of them have proper shade, which is unbelievable for a beach club. So we decided to sit at one of the restaurant tables instead — the only shaded and reasonably comfortable area.

Everything was fine until our waitress was rude from the very beginning: unfriendly, clearly annoyed, and with a visibly bad attitude. When we asked for the bill, she refused to show it until we had paid, which I found completely unacceptable. When I insisted on seeing it first, her behavior got even worse.

I asked to speak with a staff member, and they simply suggested that I “leave a review on Google.” A few minutes later, the same waitress came back to our table just to continue being unpleasant. I asked for her name, and she looked at me with a sarcastic face and answered, “I have no name.”

At that point, I was very upset, and the whole day felt ruined. I asked again to speak with the manager. He came to our table, was very understanding, and promised that she wouldn’t return — and to his credit, she didn’t.

But unfortunately, the damage was already done. I expected that paying high prices would come with decent service, but clearly that’s not the case here. Maybe the staff only smiles at night, because during the day everyone looked annoyed to be working, which really kills the vibe.

Overall, I wouldn’t come back. There are plenty of other places in Mykonos with better service and a much better price-to-experience ratio.

We had heard so much about this alleged “beach club” and decided to pay Tropicana a visit. We were greeted by friendly waitresses who led us to a table to sit and order drinks. The drinks came out promptly and were strong, in a good way.

The music was bumping. There were multiple DJ sets throughout the evening and into the night playing objectively only bangers. Despite how wasted everyone was and how much people spilled, the place and tables were spotless due to the diligent wiping down by the staff members.

The whole atmosphere is rigged for friendship. To ensure all party-goers cultivate meaningful and long-lasting friendships, the waitresses led us to tables to dance on them and make friends with the nice men who had bought the tables and who gave us many drinks. This was an especially fun aspect of Tropicana because the tables were elevated, sturdy and you could dance barefoot on them.

We then decided to take a dip in the water and were met by a very smooth beach that had a kind of sandbar/rock formation just a short wade from the beach which allowed for more elevated surface fun.
