Καφενείο 'Το Κεντρικόν' — Restaurant in Municipality of Rhodes

I recently had the opportunity to visit this establishment based on a recommendation from a friend. The atmosphere was amazing, and the staff initially seemed welcoming. However, my experience took a disappointing turn when I approached the bar for assistance.

My phone had run out of battery, so I politely asked the barman if he could help me charge it. Instead of a simple yes or no, he looked at me and rudely replied that he would “see.” After finding a charger, he took my phone and then made an inappropriate remark, saying that on this island, if I wanted to charge my phone, he would have to slap me in the face. I calmly responded that I was only looking to charge my phone as I was on vacation. He then called over a fellow waiter and sarcastically asked if they “slap people to charge their phones,” to which the waiter replied, “Of course not.”

At this point, I told him I needed to use the restroom, and he responded that I could go and that when I returned, he would charge my phone—but with a sarcastic tone. When I came back, I found my phone exactly where he had left it, completely uncharged, while he laughed at me. Frustrated and disappointed, I took my phone and left the establishment.

Having worked in the hospitality industry for years, I understand the importance of customer experience. Unfortunately, I did not get that feeling here. It’s a shame because the place itself seemed like a great spot to enjoy a night out, but the unprofessional and disrespectful attitude of the barman completely ruined...

I was really surprised with the super rude behaviour of one guy that was working there. Greeks are polite and always provide high quality of service and I hope this guy that was the exception. We picked a table, there was no note that was a reservation for this table, the guy came and said "go to another table, not even one single word like sorry guys this is reserved and if you can change the table...he only pointed with his finger another table with such rude way. And when I spoke Greek to him then he continued being arrogant and rude. -taste&quantity: we tried feta with honey, chicken with mustard in the pan and ntakos salad, taste was good and portions were average (definitely not small as I expected) -price: feta 6,5€ ntakos: 7€ and chicken 8,5€ service: apart of this rude guy the rest was ok and also they brought us 3 small dishes as a welcome from the house -atmosphere: nice old style meze place in the...

Ερχόμενοι απο την Θεσσαλονίκη για 6 μέρες στην Ρόδο, ως δυνατοί καλοφαγάδες επιδιώξαμε εξ' αρχής να βρούμε κάποια ποιοτικά μαγαζιά για φαγητό προκειμένου να μείνουμε με ευχάριστες αναμνήσεις απο το νησί. Έτσι λοιπόν έπειτα απο μια βόλτα στο κέντρο, το μάτι μας έπεσε στο συγκεκριμένο μαγαζί που εκ πρώτη όψεως φαινόταν ιδιαίτερα φιλικό. Δεν καθίσαμε εκείνη την μέρα διότι κατά πρώτον ήταν αργά και δεύτερον γιατι ήταν γεμάτα τα λιγοστά εξωτερικά τραπέζια και δεν θέλαμε να κάτσουμε στον εσωτερικό χώρο. Την επόμενη ημέρα αποφασίσαμε να κάνουμε κράτηση και να το δοκιμάσουμε. Ίσως αυτή η επιλογή μας ήταν η χειρότερη των διακοπών μας στο νησί και θα σας εξηγήσω τους λόγους. Φτάνουμε στο μαγαζί με κράτηση και μας λένε αρχικα να μπούμε μεσα με 40 βαθμούς σε εσωτερικό χώρο όταν στο τηλέφωνο δεν μας είπαν κάτι τέτοιο. Εν τέλει για καλή μας τύχη έφυγε εκείνη την ώρα μια παρέα και στριμωχτήκαμε κάπως έξω. Το παρακάμπτω αυτό και πάμε στα σοβαρά θέματα. Με το που κάτσαμε μας φέρνουν δυο πιατάκια συνοδευτικά και καλα του καταστήματος κερασμένα. Κάναμε το λάθος να τα δοκιμάσουμε. Μεγάλο λάθος! Το ένα απο αυτά είχε κάτι σαν ρύζι το οποίο προφανώς θα είχε μείνει εκτός ψυγείου για 5 μέρες. Μετά απο κανα μισάωρο έρχονται και οι τηγανιές μας κοτόπουλο και χοιρινό οι οποίες θα έλεγα δεν δίνονται ούτε ως τιμωρία σε βαρυποινίτες στο κορυδαλλό. Για να συνέλθουμε παίρνουμε και μία τυροκαυτερή να αλλάξει γεύση και με το που δοκιμάζουμε αντιλαμβανόμαστε ότι πρέπει να τους έχει πέσει όλο το σακουλάκι με το μπούκοβο μεσα. Πολύ κακή εμπειρία μετά μας χαλασε όλο το βράδυ στο κλαμπ όλοι είχαμε στομαχόπονο. Αντί να πίνουμε τις βότκες παραγγέλναμε τις σόδες με εξάδες. Προσωπικό ευχάριστο ευγενικό αλλά δεν επαρκή για τις ανάγκες του καταστήματος, μεγάλες καθυστερήσεις άσκοπα. Κάναμε 15' να πληρώσουμε το λιγότερο. Για κάποιο ανεξήγητο λόγο, ίσως διότι την πάτησαν πολλοί σαν κ εμας. το μαγαζί ήταν γεμάτο με καλό κόσμο χωρίς πιτσιρίκια και κάγκουρες. Αναφορικά με τις τιμές ήταν όντως οικονομικά, παράξενο για αυτή την περίοδο, κάτι το οποίο το οποίο μπορώ να το ερμηνεύσω ώς αυτογνωσία του ιδιοκτήτη σε σχέση με την πρώτη ύλη που σερβίρεται. Εν κατακλείδι, ο μόνος λόγος που θα περνούσα έστω και εξωτερικά απο αυτό το μαγαζί ήταν για να κάτσω να πιώ μια μπύρα στο απέναντι μαγαζί που φαινόταν...
