A tourist attraction you shouldn’t miss!

The Clock Tower is just a few steps away from one of the busiest streets in the medieval city of Rhodes, so getting there is quick and easy.

The entrance ticket is very affordable, and it even comes with a free drink that you can enjoy on the terrace after your visit. You can pick a soft drink or something alcoholic. We went for the alcoholic option — let’s just say it wasn’t amazing, but at that price, who’s complaining?

The real highlight is the view: absolutely beautiful, especially at sunset. Even if you don’t make it all the way to the top, you can still admire the impressive city walls, including the Bastion of St. George and the Spanish Bastion.

And don’t forget to wander around the little streets near the tower, they’re incredibly picturesque and full of charm.

A couple of things to keep in mind:

Sunset is the best time to visit, but also the busiest, so expect crowds.

To reach the top, you’ll need to climb narrow, winding wooden stairs. If you have issues with vertigo, high blood pressure, or simply don’t like heights, you might want to stick to the terrace or the...

The Medieval Clock Tower of Rhodes (Ενετικός Πύργος Ρολογιού) is a historical landmark located in the Old Town of Rhodes, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Built during the late Byzantine or early Ottoman period, it offers visitors stunning panoramic views of the surrounding area.

Key Features: Architecture: The clock tower combines elements of Byzantine, Venetian, and Ottoman styles, reflecting Rhodes’ rich and diverse history. Its design features a blend of stone and decorative elements typical of the island’s medieval architecture. Historical Significance: Originally constructed in the 7th century during Byzantine rule, the tower was rebuilt by the Ottomans in 1851 after being damaged by an explosion. The clock mechanism was later added, turning it into a functional timepiece. Viewpoint: Visitors can climb the tower to enjoy breathtaking views of the Old Town and beyond, including its cobbled streets, historic buildings, and the surrounding coastline. Museum Inside: The tower also features a small exhibition showcasing artifacts and information about Rhodes’...

The clock tower of Rhodes is a great spot if you're after views of the whole of old town. We paid €5 entry and with that you get entry to the clock tower and a complimentary drink from the terrace bar. Once at the top of the tower you can work you way round taking photos out of the windows. The stairs are quite steep and not great if you're scared of heights, but if you're feeling brave, the climb is worth it! Once you've conquered your fears the terrace bar is waiting for you with a beautiful and quiet setting, away from the hustle and bustle of the shops and restaurants on the street below. Definitely one of the 'must see's'...

While walking around Rhodes we noticed the tower from quite a way away and headed towards it. There's a small upfront cost for getting access, which also comes with a free drink token, so the cost seems justified. The small bar area for redeeming your drink token is quiet and covered which was a boon on such a hot day. The tower itself allows a stunning view of the city once you make your way to the top, although be warned it can get quite cramped inside if busy.
