Napoleon Restaurant — Restaurant in Municipality of Rhodes

All in all a nice experience with good food and drinks!

Upon arrival we were immediately greeted by a very friendly waitress (not in the oppressing kind of way 😉 ) and chatted a bit as we went over the menu. Once we found our table we had enough time to go over the menu and to then make our orders. The drinks arrived fast and we ordered the grilled meat platter for two. The platter had a variety of meats with Tzatziki, pita and fries on the side and tasted very good! Once we were done eating we weren't actively served anymore but waiters were always around so it was easy for us to call for one at any time! All in all a nice experience with good food and drinks!

Personal Opinion: It seems to me, that this restaurant is more of a tourist attraction. While I wouldn't say that the prices are too high, the plates served serve more of a general taste than an authentic greek taste (Pizzas on the menu is not what I expect of an authentic greek restaurant). Personally, I was missing plates like cheese balls, fried zucchini and meat balls for example. I would, however, recommend this restaurant for a quick late...

We used to eat at Napoleon many nights when we first came to Rhodes about 20 years ago. About 15 years ago we noticed a decline in the quality of the food and stopped going there. This year we decided to give it another try. The restaurant seemed much more cramped than we remembered it. We felt like we were sharing table with a lo unknown people. The food was edible. We recognized staff that has worked there for a long time. Considering how many years this person has worked in the hospitality industry, it is amazing how poor his English still is. When my wife accidently left 10 Euros less than the sum of the bill he came back and was not able to express this in a polite manner, but sounded rather accusing and made this into an unneccesary embarrasing moment. I visited with my girlfriend and we had higher expectations based on the look of the restaurant from the main street, but after ordering we were met with disappointment. The staff was not very active, they only asked us once after we finished the meal, if we wanted another drink and one lady especially wasn’t really nice. The food was good enough, but nothing special, the pizza was actually pretty bad, the moussaka was decent. I guess we would enjoy the food more if we would order some of the pasta dishes, since that was from observing other plates the specialty of this restaurant.
