Greek Stories — Restaurant in Municipality of Rhodes

I first visited Greek Stories a few years ago, around the time it had just opened, and I was blown away by both the service and the food. The staff back then were attentive, polite and warm, and the dishes were so wonderful that we returned several times during the same holiday. This year, coming back to Rhodes, it was one of the places I most looked forward to revisiting — but sadly, the experience was very different. While the food itself was still good, the atmosphere felt rushed and pressured. It was obvious that the staff wanted every guest to eat quickly and leave, which completely ruined the charm I remembered. Our waiter was pushy, insisting on recommendations we didn’t need, and even took our starter order before we could choose the main course. Starters arrived within three minutes, and the waiter returned multiple times asking if we had decided, which felt overwhelming. In the end, what should have been a relaxed dinner for two with three courses lasted barely 45 minutes. I understand that it’s high season and restaurants want to maximize turnover, but this approach destroyed the warm memories I had of this place. It’s a shame to see such a special restaurant lose the magic...

Being in Rhodes for 1 week there was a large selection of restaurants to choose from as you would expect. Once you get through the very odd and very old you are left with a beautiful restaurant called Greek stories. From the 1st time we entered we was made to feel very welcome by the awsome staff. The food was amazing. I am very fussy when it comes to eating out however I could not find a single issue. The menue has a great selection to choose from and from the list of items it's clear that all items are fresh. We have all been to restaurants that cook Mexican,Greek,Italian,French..... too many items means it can't be fresh! The bar was fully stocked and just ask for a cocktail and it will be made. We have had alot of drinks in alot of venues during our stay here however this place produced the best by far. The price of the meal surprised me. The quality of the food and experience I would happily pay more than what I was charged! This is clearly a family run restaurants where you are not hassled on the street to enter!!! We have found this restaurant by accident during our weekend trip in June and it became our favourite place for dinner in Rhodes town where we returned very often during our next trip to the island. The restaurant is located in the newtown, has a charming garden under bougainvillea and offer modern greek cuisine and a long list of cocktails. We tried sea food, steaks, Greek specials, salads, desserts and all was delicious and very well cooked, we literally shared everything for two of us since the portions were huge!! I personally recommend moussaka, for me it was the best one I have ever had in Greece. MANY THANKS and hugs to the whole Team, especially Janis for the warm welcome and Dimitris for a great sense of humor ( 10 out of 5 😎) and my cheerful fish.
