Tokyo Yaki - KabukiCanton — Restaurant in Municipality of Rhodes

We have stumbled upon this adorable restaurant situated in the town of Rhodes. We have ordered dishes such as ramen (Tonkatsu and Chashu), tempura and pork steamed dumplings. Below would be my opinion on this restaurant:

PROS •ATMOSPHERE It captures an essence of Asia (Japan in particular) from its interiors to its music. The interior sets you in the street side of a typical noodle bar and there is also a sushi chef preparing orders for customers to see. A young approach enticing the youth for their experience.

•STAFF They are friendly and eager to serve the clients. They seem busy during the day. Nonetheless they are cheerful.

•CLEANLINESS You’ll be sat down to a clean and sanitised table. Thereafter they’ll set the table with clean dishes (or plates) and cutleries. The toilet is exceptional with clean hand towels compared to regular paper towels.

CONS •TIME It took a while for us to be served. We had to remind the staff now and then (which is more or less half an hour on every order). An item hasn’t even arrived where we have patiently waited. In the end it hasn’t even been noted down by the waiter. If you are expecting a prompt service experience there would be other restaurants that would offer such service.

•PRIORITY It feels like the restaurant have priority status on different guest depending on the value of your order. We noticed that a group has been served quickly although we have ordered ahead of them. The more the value your order is the quicker your food will arrive.

•FOOD The food seems average for its price. It would be considered enjoyable. An exemption would be their “Steamed Pork Dumplings” (similar to a dish called “Siomai”) - where the meat is still pinkish. The staff mentioned that it was perfectly fine and cooked for 25~minutes where as some might still find it unpleasant.

Please stay away! I have contacted the restaurant with no reply!! Very disappointing…VERY BAD FOOD POISONING! me and my partner came to your restaurant on Tuesday night for our last meal before we flew home on Wednesday afternoon, So unfortunately when we arrived home from your restaurant I started to feel very blotted and very uncomfortable! I thought I had just had a little too much to eat so thought it would go away. Possibly a hour after I had to run to the bathroom and was very sick! I was being sick and going to the bathroom “if you get what I mean” without being too graphic! After being sick several times my partner said I need the bathroom my tummy is killing me and then he proceeded to have the same issues being violently sick and going to the bathroom at the same time! we shared prawns to start we had 3 each I am sure! We also tried each other’s main meals ect but we think it was the prawns as that is what we had the most of together! We Wer both up all night being sick and going to the bathroom! I was that violently sick I have burst the blood vessels around my eyes with wrenching so hard it was so awful! We had to take medication to fly home to stop us being sick and going to bathroom. We were both so ill and still feeling the effects of it now, we have had to not eat or drink since the meal on Tuesday night as just having more than a sip of water would make us bring it back up! I will attach pictures of our meal to show you what we had and my eyes to show you, I had to fly home with what looked like...

More than disappointing!

I would love to review the food but the only problem is that it never came… We waited for a long time and only got bad excuses from the waitress. Meanwhile a cockroach joined us and gave us company at the table. He walked up and down the wall our table was facing and he made himself really comfortable over our heads. When we asked the waitress for a new table she just said: ,,Sorry we don’t have another table.’’ (Keep in mind many tables where empty)

Here more Details: After a minute tho the manager came and changed us to a new table. After 45 minutes waiting I asked if they forgot of us and our food , the waitress said to us that they have an issue today with the sushi kitchen and that all the dishes are late. (Meanwhile people who came way later than us were already done with their sushi!) She told me that people are eating normal dishes and nothing from the sushi section and I just told her to look around! After a small walk around (only seeing sushi) she came back to us with a new excuse telling us that our sushi went to the first table we had and the guests there are eating it. (Which was also a lie because I definitely know our Sushi order and we never ordered these kind of sushi) I asked to talk with the manager but he never appeared, the only thing he did it was giving to the waitress wrong instructions “how to solve our problem”.
