Traditional Cafe Symi — Restaurant in Municipality of Rhodes

Food is good but the prices are for tourists..it is not VFM place unfortunately..! There are places that offer same for less..! Just how much does it cost the fish per kilo just do the math and you will be in for a surprise..! If seating on an old school uncomfortable chair to have dinner is costing that much then how much should it cost the same in proper restaurant..?questions for the owners to answer..!! Simply overpriced for what it offers..!!

Dear people I will not comment on your delirium about fake profile and locked profile because you should be aware that personal data are easily stolen..so there is nothing wrong with that..! I believe you are hurt because you are used to easy 5 stars from tourists,good people that do not really know a lot of things about Greek food..! I wrote that your food is good but I believe is overpriced..! You have written your prices on the blackboard and according to that if one brings back the price of the fish per kilogram then it is very clear that fish prices are rather expensive to the standard for Mezedopolia..!

There is no effort here to sabotage your business only to set the record straight.. so please do not be so arrogant and get down from you high horse..! Accept criticism when it is well documented according to your price list.

Great traditional food for good prices.

When searching for a place to often did we find ourselves swamped by “traditional Greek cuisine” which are no more than expensive tourist traps, making us wary when trying places. This cafe however is an exquisite find in an area where said “tourist traps” are littered along its vicinity. The restaurant is simplistic and ran by only two people but this only adds to the care and authenticity given to the experience and food. We ordered the grilled octopus, fried squid, two of their fresh fishes of the day and fried potatoes. This is the first time my partner has tried octopus and I am thankful that it was at this place, as the way they served and prepared it was superb, quite possibly the best I’ve ever had in my life. The fried squid was also tender and evenly cooked. You could tell by the quality of the food once it reaches your table that they are prepared from fresh. We found this place through Google maps as a top rated place to eat. We sat down and waited for someone to come with a menu, it's an extremely small place with a few tables and chairs outside. There was one other table occupied and the lady who works there was more interested in chatting to others than welcoming us or giving us menus. She eventually came over and asked what we wanted, I awkwardly asked if there was a menu we could flick through and she pointed to the chalk board hanging on the wall that just listed different types of grilled fish. There was a ham & cheese toastie option though...

After studying the boards and sitting back down, the lady didn't come back, we thought better of it and found somewhere else to eat. I'm sure the food is lovely but we never got chance to experience it. Very unwelcoming, given 2 stars because I can't comment on the food but if the service and demeanour of the staff is anything to go by my 2*...
