The restaurant with the worst service I have encountered in Greece. The 3 waitresses working at the restaurant where we sat at around 5 o'clock yesterday because it had a sea view were very rude. Since the first table we sat at was in the sun, when we wanted to move to a table in the shade, one of the waiters shouted at us from the other end of the restaurant, "This is not possible." However, the service had not started yet and there was only water and bread on our table. Even though the service has started, this cannot excuse the rudeness we encountered. When we wanted to ask something to another waitress, we received the answer "yes, what do you want?" When we asked another waitress about trikofteri, which we could not see on the menu even though it was available in almost every restaurant in Greece, but we suspected that it might be under a different name like ktipiti, we received the answer that if it was not on the menu, it did not exist. Despite the fact that they were smoking on my neck every time they took a break, and although they were constantly laughing and enjoying among themselves, we were greeted with a rather sullen expression whenever we called out to them. Fortunately, when we asked for the bill, a waiter who had just started his shift took care of us and we were treated politely in the end. This young man, whose name we did not know but was of Albanian origin, was extremely friendly, polite and helpful. In terms of cleanliness, especially the toilet was in a very bad condition, it was full of garbage and used toilet papers were scattered on the floor. Among the dishes, we ordered gavros saganaki, calamari, cabbage salad, zucchini fries and cheese dip called ktipiti. The calamari was really bad, like rubber. The cabbage was good, but it was a pickle, not a salad. I must say I've had better zucchini. Unfortunately, I couldn't understand it because I was scolded by the waitress while trying to understand the difference between the ktipiti and tirokafteri. I can say that the only dish I had to give credit to was the gavros saganaki. If you don't want to be treated rudely in this restaurant, don't go there before 6 pm, in fact it's not worth the trouble as the food is...
Read moreI used to eat here before the pandemic, as the prices and view are good as well as the food and services. It’s pleasing to find the owner make the tavern have more open space downstair. Upstair at the first line of balcony is with the view of seaside which I always prefer.
I was satisfied with the taste of seafood here including mussels and octopus as they are excellent as usual, however, the salad, hot pepper and cheese are not so fresh nor tasty. Most disappointing was the service upstair, regardless of the amount of dishes I ordered, the staff arranged for me and my friend to sit in small table which is obviously not enough for placing all of our orders while there is still many big tables left empty. Surely the time our orders arrived there was no place for putting them and the staff just handed the plates over to us until we have no hands to take more plates. Then finally he had other staff to pull over one more small table to the corner we sit for placing rest of the dishes.
Overall, I give 3.5 for the food served this time and 2 for the attitude of the service we had. Last but not the least, I really hope the owner would be able to find good staffs like that they used to have for providing customers with better services and environment...
Read moreMe along with the family of 6, visited Salonic for the first time. The culinary capital of Greece! As we walked around the city visiting placed, i always ask the locals for advice for a good place to eat, so we came to this place as a result.
Long story short the result as a taste disaster.
One of the plates was a €25 sea bass, it was burned and tasteless.
Second plate was a mixed sea food plate €25, no octopus, 1x king-prawn , 2x rings of calmari, loads of little fish and shells. When telling the waiter that this is not what we wanted, he said this is what it is and there is nothing they can do. Full stop
The other plates were different variants with pasta and either seafood or chicken. The sea food plate had no actual sea food that could be eaten, just the heads of king prawns!!!! The taste of this food was far from good, not even average.
The pasta plate with chicken, had the chicken undercooked, to the point was almost raw, overall mediocre taste.
Unfortunately the only good food we had was the olives we had as starters with beer.
When asking to speak with the manager, the staff refused and pretended he was not there.
I personally would never step inside this...
