The Greek is a modern, trendy restaurant, beautifully decorated with containers of Greek spirits and products all around the dining room. The restaurant specializes in homemade dips and salads, prepared fresh daily and sitting ready-to-serve at the counter. The colorful mix of three dips came with eggplant salad (mixed with walnuts), Byzantine salad (beets mixed with yogurt), and a spicy feta dip. All of these went nicely with the basket of bread on the side, but my favorites were the whipped feta and the sweet and tangy beetroot salad. Next, the Thessaloniki salad came with lettuce, mesclun, and arugula tossed in a light citrus dressing, topped with shaved Parmesan, sesame, orange wedges, slices of pork tenderloin, and croutons made with koulouri, a local sesame seed bread. Each of the salad ingredients was so flavorful on its own, but the combination of the salty cheese and pork, the sweet and acidic citrus, and the crunchy croutons was even more amazing. But my favorite dish was the Grilled Calamari, which came with three skewers of calamari, bell peppers, and onions seasoned simply with olive oil and oregano, and served with bulgur and greens on the side. The perfectly grilled skewers were simply prepared but so flavorful and delicious! And to finish off, our waiter brought us a complimentary dessert of Greek yogurt topped with candied citrus rind, making for a nice end to a delicious meal.

I am so sad about having to change my review for this place from 5/5 to 1/5 but I just had a terrible experience here. We came back here for our second-to-last dinner in Greece (we really loved this place). We ordered a salad to share and a dish for each of us. I am a celiac and I informed about it to the waiter to make sure that everything that I was ordering was gluten-free. The salad that we received was not the one that we had ordered and it had a huge piece of bread on the bottom. We spent more than 15 minutes trying to call out a waiter’s attention to tell him about it but in the end we just gave up and decided to not make it a problem, so I ended up not taking any salad. Everyone got their dishes after the salad but mine was taking way longer, like I was waiting for 20 minutes more than the rest of us, but I decided to wait a little bit because it was shrimps and I guessed it could take longer to cook them. Then I spent 20 minutes trying to call out the waiters’ attention but they kept on telling me to wait for a minute and they weren't coming to our table. In the end I decided to tell them that I didn’t want my dish anymore if they hadn’t started cooking it yet, but they kept on ignoring our table. Finally, a waiter came to our table and I told him about the issue and asked him for the bill. Not only he didn't apologise, but he also told us to wait a minute for the check. The minute became another 20 minutes of trying to call other waiters and being told to wait. In total we spent 45 minutes trying to pay for the dinner. One of them finally brought us the bill and we paid for it. They obviously didn't try to charge us for the shrimps because they didn't serve them, but I thought I had to tell this waiter about how upset we were feeling about the meal because I didn't get to have dinner. I felt very uncomfortable about having to tell him but he made it even worse by telling us that we should have called the waiters (we did, in fact, several times) and he thought I was trying to get him to return me some money, even though I was telling him it was not my intention, that I just wanted to let him know about my disappointment. In the end he just apologised, but had not a single detail with us. I even had to pay for the piece of bread I didn't order because I couldn't eat it hahahah. I’m so sad about this experience because the food from this place is lovely, but it is the first time in my life going out for dinner and arriving home without having eaten a single thing. Old review: 10/10 if you and your friends want to try a variety of meze for a good price

Would not recommend. **Elliniko Restaurant Review** I recently dined at Elliniko, and unfortunately, the experience was quite disappointing. The food was served cold, with stale potato wedges that seemed to have been reheated in the microwave. The souvlaki was overcooked and burnt, while the tomato was warm and tasteless. To make matters worse, one member of our party had to wait significantly longer for their meal, while the rest of us received our food earlier. Even more frustrating was the fact that another table, which ordered after us, was served before we were. The service was lacking as well. The waiter was more focused on flirting with other customers than attending to our table, leaving us unattended for an unreasonable amount of time. The food presentation was also far below expectations, especially considering how well-presented other dishes on nearby tables appeared. It felt as though the staff did not prioritize tourists, which added to the overall negative experience. Sadly, I would not recommend Elliniko, and I certainly won’t be returning. PS. We were so hungry so we ate everything, tho it was not hard simce the portions were smaller than my hands. 😁

Our experience at this place was really disappointing. We ordered seafood, and honestly, the fish was almost burnt, and the rest of the foods didn’t impress either. To top it off, we asked for wine, but it never made it to our table. The staff seemed like they had a lot on their plate, and getting their attention was like trying to summon a unicorn. One guy, in particular, seemed forced to work there, and it reflected in his attitude. When our food was still on the way, he randomly grabbed the napkin box, threw the napkins on our starters, and didn’t bother explaining why. Who does that? Our glasses were dirty, and spotting dirt on them gave me the ick factor. And guess what? When we finally got the bill, they charged us for that missing wine and some mystery shots we never asked for. It took them ages to fix it. Honestly, it was our last night in Thessaloniki, and this place just didn’t cut it. Bad vibes, average food, and service that made us want to bolt. Save your hard-earned cash and eat somewhere that won’t leave you feeling meh. Oh, and we didn’t tip – just keeping it real.

I’ve been curious about this restaurant for ages, and finally got to check it out! I’d heard so much about it and really wanted to experience it myself. First off, when you walk up, the crowd instantly pulls you in – makes you even more excited to see what the hype’s about. You might have to wait a bit, though. We decided to sit inside to really soak up the vibe, and that was definitely the right call. The design? Totally loved it. Super classy, very Greek with a calm vibe and attention to detail. Even the menu and tablecloths were spot on. The only hiccup was they gave us a terrible table at first, but once we asked to move, they quickly sorted it and gave us a much better spot. We went for Lakerda, Tzatziki, baked eggplant, fried zucchini, and mussels saganaki, paired with some Sauvignon Blanc. Everything was delicious! I’m definitely going back and would recommend it to anyone.

Haven't tasted the rest of Thessaloniki's restaurants but this particular one is very very good. I ordered "Fresh salad" and "Sardina fish" with some fresh salad and both were very good, especially the fresh salad which consisted of spinach, rucola, hard cheese and very very nice balsamic vinegar extract. The interior as you see in the uploaded panoramic picture is very charming. The waiters are very fast, food arrives almost instantly. There is one waiter for the drinks and another one for the food. The prices are truly normal. The tables are very convenient because they have stands for your feet, so that you can rest them in a higher position. And last but not least for sure - there is a free dessert that is totally gourgeos: balls of ice cream laid over a cake. It resembles a bit the chocolate souffle (see the photos provided). Recommend it.
