Update:After years of eating at this place, and after a score of 4.5, it's time to refresh the review. On 22.02.2025, I went to this restaurant, with a group of 14 people (In the past only with groups between 10 and 26 people), and I had the first surprise, and they could not seat the whole group at one table or at least two close tables, but at three tables, and at one of them the people were crowded even though the restaurant had free and large enough tables. We sat down...(big mistake) We would wait 30 minutes for our food order to be taken. Padrino is basically an Italian restaurant, so the group decided to mainly produce pizza. The waiter, a bit annoyed by the situation, said that they didn't have dough, then that the person who makes the pizza left. How is it possible that you didn't have pizza dough at an Italian restaurant, at 8:30 p.m., a restaurant that closes at 01:30 (5 hours until closing). I then understood that a part of the group ordered a salad each (Of course NOT Greek because the previous experiences with Greek salad were horrible) 2 Padrino salads and 3 Ceaser salads. You have the Padrino salad in the attached pictures with "Slightly old" shrimp because they smelled old. Otherwise, the Caesar salads are tasty. Now let's move on to the most disappointing pastas... Pasta carbonara (For all restaurant chefs, pasta carbonara is made with egg yolk, parmesan and pecorino cheese, guanciale and ground black pepper.) The received pasta resembles a simple portion of pasta with cheese, and "soup" of cooking cream with pepper plantation and two "sheets" of bacon. Pasta burata, ...(Pasta soup with burata). A sauce that was 1 tomato per 1 liter of water. The Burata was good, but the pasta floating on that water was something terrible. You can see in the last 2 pictures what a portion of Burata pasta looks like, made by me at home with "real" tomato and Burata sauce (Yes, I'm not Italian). In the end, I was disappointed with the experience at Padrino, and it's a pity why they were, but the disgusting behavior of the employees, the quality of the food versus the price cannot be overlooked. PS: It is true that those potatoes come first and 20-30 minutes...
Read moreWe quite liked Pizzeria Il Padrino. It's a seafront restaurant that offers a variety of dishes, including pizza, and that's what we went there specifically for. The interior evokes the idea of a sports pub, with large screens showing matches from the previous 2024/2025 Italian football championship. As an Italian, I'll give you my opinion on the pizzas. We ordered four pizzas: 2 Neapolitan pizzas (good with tomato sauce, fresh mozzarella, and basil) 1 prosciutto and cheese pizza (good but with too much cheese) 1 cold cut and roast beef pizza (just a few tiny pieces of prosciutto; the roast beef tasted like poor man's bresaola, too much cheese) The dough was good, and we didn't wait too long. The staff was kind and friendly. Note: When we entered, the air conditioning was on and the atmosphere was pleasant. Then, after 30 minutes (it was around 8:15 AM), they opened all the windows... Okay, the outside temperature had dropped a bit, but since the place faces a very busy three-lane road, there was a lot of noise from vehicles, motorcycles,...
Read moreWaitress was looking very bothered , she turned off the heat while it was freezing outside. The serving sizes and stingy portions of prosciutto and arugula are sure to steer me clear from this spot any time. The arugula was dry, chewy and had a bitter taste, the prosciutto was in the tiniest, driest pieces I’ve ever seen. Before my experience here I wasn’t even aware you could make a pizza THAT stale, yet still greasy. Menu was confusing, and they served us dry cookies with little to no cream cheese with an extra charge. We did not ask for them, it was 2€ extra on an already high charge for a small, soulless pizza. Stay away from this spot, there are much better pizza places around the square. Save your money and don’t...
