The Family — Restaurant in Municipality of Thira

We stayed in Santorini 3 days and each meal we were eating in a different restaurant to try its food. On the second day we tried The Family pizzas and we didn't hesitate to come back for the rest of our days. Music is amazing and lively, staff were super friendly and polite, they even explained to us what was going on on Good Friday's night. They told us to wait if we wanted to see the religious parade which is so important to them and explained to us the Pyrgos lit up candle event. We would have missed it if it weren't for them.

We had pizza and pasta carbonara. The pasta is a generous portion. Our favourite was to have pizza and pistachio ice cream for less than 10€. The ice cream is 1 scoop but they filled it up to the top unlike other ice cream parlours. Don't wait because when the pistachio ice cream is gone, it is gone!

They also have a toilet and seats inside and outside.

sitting here as I write this cause the service was SO BAD. I ordered a cappuccino and the number 9 (chicken pasta) for €11 the lady told me at the register never gave me a receipt and that she would call me when it’s ready. 30-40 min go by and everyone who ordered food after me got their pasta. I finally got up and there say I payed a long time ago and am waiting for my pasta so when I finally get it the same lady who rang me up said I didn’t pay for it and charged me for a smoothie instead that I did not order. my friend before me ordered one for herself and I never once said I wanted one too and specifically said a cappuccino and pasta. they come to my table after I get my food and argue with me about the situation. if they just listen the first time and actually put the food in that I ordered this would’ve never became an issue. if I could give them zero stars I definitely would. Our favorite place to eat in Santorini! The pasta is prepared right in front of you and had amazing quality and taste! The man who made my dish told me he's been cooking for 16 years and can't picture doing anything else because he loved it so much! Everyone staffed there was incredibly friendly. Their pizza was delicious, as was the man behind the counter serving the pizza. (Actually, most people who work here are GORGEOUS.) And the woman complimented my dress and asked for the US website to it. My goodness this place was so chill to hangout at. I miss it a lot! Great atmosphere and it's open air seating....
