A Hidden Gem in Paros: Lemon...e Delivers Flavour and Fun
Our recent days in Paros had been a series of culinary 'meh' moments. The main strip of sea-view restaurants offered overpriced dishes with questionably average quality that left much to be desired. But then we discovered Lemon...e, a hidden gem that not only revitalised our palates but also our spirits.
From the moment we stepped into Lemon...e for lunch, we knew we were in for a treat. The chef/owner greeted us with a sparkling wit and humour that had us laughing uncontrollably – a rare and delightful start to what became an unforgettable meal. His genuine warmth and charisma set a tone of authenticity that is often missing in more commercial establishments.
But let’s talk about the food. Presented behind a modest glass counter, a selection of buffet-style trays beckoned with an array of mouth-watering options. We sampled the fish, moussaka, potatoes, meatballs, stuffed tomatoes, and capsicums. Each dish was bursting with flavours that spoke of tradition and passion. The fish was perfectly tender, the moussaka rich and comforting, the potatoes delightfully crispy, the meatballs succulent, and the stuffed tomatoes and capsicums a harmony of spices and textures. Not one dish disappointed – a true testament to the chef’s prowess.
As seasoned travellers, we have made it a tradition to find that one restaurant in each destination that captures the essence of the local cuisine and offers an experience worth repeating. Lemon...e has undoubtedly earned this distinction in Paros. The food is honest, unpretentious, and extraordinarily delicious. While it may lack the panoramic sea views, it more than compensates with its culinary brilliance and the sheer joy of eating there.
Given Lemon...e closes at 6pm, we highly recommend visiting earlier in the day to avoid any disappointment if the food is all gone. Our lunch was so good that we couldn’t resist taking some food to go, ensuring we could savour the flavours even after leaving. Without a doubt, we will be returning to Lemon...e, drawn back by the impeccable dishes and the unforgettable charm of the chef.
Lemon...e is a place where laughter and culinary excellence come together, making it a must-visit for anyone seeking an honest...

We loved it the first time we came, then ordered it at a restaurant later and realized there’s definitely a difference in how moussaka is made. You won’t understand until you try different versions! There was leftover at the restaurant we tried, and we were all fighting over the last few bites of the moussaka here. It’s evident that the owners care deeply about their craft and execute every dish the way they’re meant to be enjoyed. The flavors are unique and complement each other perfectly. Depending on when you visit, there could be a line but it moves quickly and efficiently. This is more of a takeout place, with limited seating. My family of 6 happened to come at a time when it was not too busy, so we were able to sit down at a table together. It seems like most people get their food to go, so that’s what we did for our second visit. The prices are extremely reasonable, and the quality is excellent. The menu is all in Greek, but the owner is very patient and friendly to explain the variety of food available that day. If you would like a taste of traditional Greek home cooking, this is your place to try- highly recommend!!
*UPDATE: We left Paros to spend 3 days in Athens. We ordered moussaka at a restaurant in Athens, seeing pictures of it being baked in a clay pot and many reviewers speaking of how delicious it was. I took one bite and knew immediately that it couldn't compare to what we had in Paros at Lemon.e. The flavors and texture were just off. How it is prepared does make a significant difference! Now I will be dreaming of the moussaka we had in Paros, and unfortunately it has ruined all moussaka for me until I have the chance to visit again. Now that we're back in the US, I know nothing will even come close. So, do yourself a favor and eat as much moussaka as you can while...
Read moreAN ABSOLUTE MUST!!! I spent a week in Paros and came to Lemone for lunch every. single. day. (and I wish I could keep coming back again and again). That's how incredible the food was. The food is served canteen style by the friendliest and funniest chef (self-deprecating humour is his thing) and the menu changes daily (but a few key dishes like the moussaka, lemon chicken and lasagna are always available). The food keeps getting cooked and refilled throughout the day so everything you get is always super fresh and warm.
There's always a line of repeating locals who seem to come here everyday for their lunch, so you know you're getting the real deal and not some fake overpriced tourist trap food.
Plus the value for money you get here is outrageous!!! Especially compared to how insanely expensive food in Paros usually is! I always get a mix of food by asking the chef to build me my own box based on his recommendations (every single thing he makes is incredible so you can't go wrong), and I end up getting a massive tray of food, bread and a large bottle of water for just €7!!!
I spent 4 weeks travelling to different islands in Greece and Lemone had some of the best, most authentic Greek food I had during my entire trip. It's bursting with flavour and every bite warms you only the way exceptional homemade greek food can! I cannot recommend this place enough and it's a definite must-go!!! DO NOT MISS!
Must tries: the mousakka (best I've had in all of Greece), the grilled fish, lemon chicken with potatoes, the beef burger patty / meatballs with mixed veggies and bread,...
