Taverna Kali Orexi — Restaurant in Paros Municipality

My wife and I had a nice dinner here to end our long day trip through the island, fortunately there were few people in place and the owner, George, personally took our order, a pretty friendly and nice person.

We ordered a greek salad, Neapolitan Pasta, Amalfi Pizza and a cup of greek wine to pair with our food.

We must say that all was perfectly prepared and tasty, was not as magical as we hope but was good.

In spite of being located at the main avenue, the place was calmly. If you arrive by car there are slots for parking, just 𝙠𝙚𝙚𝙥 𝙞𝙣 𝙢𝙞𝙣𝙙 𝙩𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙞𝙨 𝙡𝙞𝙢𝙞𝙩𝙚𝙙 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙢𝙖𝙮𝙗𝙚 𝙝𝙖𝙫𝙚 𝙩𝙤 𝙡𝙚𝙖𝙫𝙚 𝙮𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙫𝙚𝙝𝙞𝙘𝙡𝙚 𝙣𝙤𝙩 𝙖𝙨 𝙘𝙡𝙤𝙨𝙚 𝙛𝙧𝙤𝙢 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙫𝙚𝙣𝙪𝙚 𝙖𝙨 𝙚𝙭𝙥𝙚𝙘𝙩𝙚𝙙.

In the exterior the place looks good and cosy but inside, the ambience feels very different, like if something were missing.

To summarise, the place is good for a calmly dinner, the food is well prepared and delicious but do not expect an outstanding meal. About the wine, have good options for a nice pairing.

Be warned. The food is ok but the service is slowwwwwww, and the owner/ waiter/ solo server is very rude and strange. He spoiled an otherwise pleasant evening. Sad for him and for Paros & Parikia. We have had wonderful courteous service in Greece but this is the worst experience I’ve had in a restaurant in ages. See numerous other reviews, and tread carefully if you eat here. I went to pay and he wouldn’t give me a bill. I asked nicely, but he snapped that I’d get the receipt. He the snatched my credit card out of my hand, stuck it in the machine and pushed the Greece currency exchange! I couldn’t believe it was happening! The cost was roughly what I expected, but still, let me do the paying. I took my card out and asked to push the buttons myself. The owner then demanded “Give me my money!” I said ‘Sure, just let me push the buttons please.” By this point I’d had enough, and my wife paid in cash. What a shame, and a shambles. If I could leave zero stars, I would. Worst service I have ever had in my life. Upon sitting down, the waiter was very pushy and rushing us to order, even though the restaurant was empty. We ordered wine and water and asked for a little more time to decide what we wanted to eat. 10 minutes later, the waiter came back (without our drinks) and we ordered our food. He then asked how we wanted to pay. I requested separate bills. He said if we wanted to pay together, we could to pay by card, however if we wanted to pay separately, it had to be cash. I checked to see if I had cash, as I wanted to pay by card, and I confirmed I had cash to pay and I agreed. He then repeated if we wanted to pay by card, it must be together.
