Alexandros — Restaurant in Skiathos Municipality

I recently had a disappointing experience at this restaurant. We ordered a seafood platter, which turned out to be far from what we expected. The dish was tasteless, and there was more potato and some random greens on the plate than actual seafood.

Before the seafood platter arrived, they brought us bread with butter and olives. We assumed it was complimentary, but to our surprise, they charged us €8 for it, which we only found out when we received the final bill. There was no prior warning about this charge.

On top of that, the service was quite poor. We had to wait a long time to be seated, and when we finally placed our order, the waiter didn’t remember it and had to ask us to repeat it twice. To make matters worse, the glasses we were given were dirty, which only added to the overall disappointment.

Wow, the manager at this place was so rude to us. Our food was cold and not very good, so when asked how it was we gave honest feedback. We were also charged €8 for stale bread and 5 olives. We didn’t ask for these and were told it was a cover charge… fair dinkum but the bread was actually stale. Our waiter was kind and helpful but said he couldn’t do anything about our complaints. We asked for the manager. She was really unpleasant and quite aggressive, focussed on the cover charge story and not the substandard food. She was so rude and spikey we were just stunned. Nothing taken off the bill. No apology for the cold food. We left disappointed and a bit shocked. The waiter apologised for her, as he too could see how unreasonable she was, and I feel for him having to work under this type of tyranny. I would avoid this place. It is average at best and not worthy of the glowing...

Awful service at Alexandros last night!

This used to be our favourite restaurant on the island, not anymore sadly!

We arrived as a large group were being seated, so I know this is never easy, but most of the tables were clearly not happy!

The young waiter shouldn’t be allowed to serve customers, he was rude, uninterested and clearly didn’t want to be there.

The food was nice, but again, the quality had dropped probably because of this large group taking over!

We did notice other customers seating nearby who were also gobsmacked by the lack of service, one guy also laughing every time the waiter rudely delivered the food and drinks to our tables.

Sadly we’ll give Alexandros a miss in future, but 5 stars to the guitarist who saved the evening - well...
