To Palouki — Restaurant in Skiathos Municipality

What else to say, but WOW. We went into Palouki quite late on Saturday evening, hoping to find somewhere to eat with a lot of other kitchens being closed in town. Despite getting ready to close themselves, the staff at Palouki kindly invited us in to eat and I’m so happy they did. The food was absolutely incredible, and the staff were so wonderful to us. We both ordered the meatballs in tomato sauce and they were some of the best meatballs I’ve ever tried. Soft and juicy on the inside but crispy on the outside, and the flavour was to die for. This is a very traditional Greek restaurant tucked away in the middle of Skiathos Town. Meat is very much the order of the day, and everything is very simple, so don't expect fancy presentation or garnishes. It's a family run affair, and the owner is a very friendly guy who greeted us with a smile and a handshake.

We ordered the kleftiko, which came wrapped in greaseproof paper. Inside there were chunks of tender lamb, lemony potatoes, onions, cheese, and dill - no tomatoes, surprisingly - and it was very nice. This is one of our favorite restaurants on this enchanting island! Starting with the polite and unobtrusive invitation into the restaurant, we were led to our table on the balcony which was quiet and cosy. A big thank you to the dear son of the restaurants owner, Orestis, who not only charmed us with his courtesy but also chose suitable dishes on our requests.
