Movida — Restaurant in Zakynthos Municipality

Worst experience of my holidays. First we waited 25 minutes to be noticed and order our first drink. When we finally got our drinks we were ready to order our food. The waiter walked by our table around 7 times and took 30 minutes till we had to ask him if we could finally order our food.

The meals were very overpriced. The menu was traditional tourist food and not special at all. The greek salad was horrible with almost all lettuce. The burger was not tastefully and the balsamico on top of the potatoes was a miss. In the course of 2 hours we have been there we have not been approached once.

The service is very bad, considering we have been going out for dinner around 20 times this holidays and never been serviced so badly. It seems like they don’t even want to help you. The other customers around us had empty glasses for almost a hour and none noticed it. When we said we wanted to book a taxi because we wanted to leave this restaurant as soon as possible the informed us wrong. They said the taxi has arrived but when we walked down it was no where to be found.

The only good part is the view, but you can have that for 1/4th of the price with excellent service about 100 meters away.

We have never been treated this bad in Zakynthos before. I should advice everyone to avoid Movida...

This review could be so much higher! Even a 5star! The venue is amazing, with a breathtaking view and a great decoration in line with the surroundings. The staff is polite but could be more on the smiling side of things. The problem was with the handling of the sitting of people. When we asked to sit in another table our request was politely denied with the excuse that the table was reserved. Still, an hour and a half later no one came to sit there. Then, some other people, without even asking, just casually changed tables. Well is this the way to do things? I couldn't help but wonder. And a friendly tip: when asked for a classic cocktail that requires a block of ice, please don't spoil it by using ice cubes. That's not nice. Not even close. Please respect the classics. One of the best dining experiences I’ve ever had! The food was simply outstanding – every dish surprised me with its creativity and taste. The beef tartare with sauce fricassée was delicate and full of flavor, the espresso-marinated steak was cooked to perfection, the dolmadakia rissoto with apaki was unique and unforgettable, and the pastitsio pasta was incredibly comforting and full of flavors.

On top of the amazing food, the restaurant itself is beautiful, with a stunning view over the city and port of Zakynthos that makes the whole experience even more special. The atmosphere is elegant yet welcoming, perfect for a memorable night out.
