Had an appointment nearby and entered the place at 07:59, because all furnitures were out already, i saw the baristas in, so all the signs showed that they were open. As I enter and say hello, one of the girl gave me a super nasty look, theatrically checked her watch and sighed. I asked politely whether I am too early and they are still closed, and she said: "well, we will open in two minutes, but if you want to wait until here, I guess, it's up to you"- giving me the nastiest look ever. Her vibe was so inappropriate and rude that I just turned around and went outside to wait. Unfortunately, there were no other cafes around, so I had to swallow my pride and went back again in 5 min. The same girl attended me, still making a nasty face. Don't get me wrong, I don't mind waiting until they are officially open. It is the attitude, the nasty look and the treatment I received for being one minute early. If they take it so serious, I advise to lock the door and open it at 8am sharp. However, her attitude did not get better at 8:05, and when I told my friend what happened, he added he doesn't even go there anymore because of the bad service. Fortunately, there are so many cafes in Budapest, and their stuff is not any better from the others, so this was my first and last...
Read moreWe went for brunch on a Sunday. The place was full except for 2 empty tables. We ordered the Eggs Benny & Spinach waffles. Both were very good. I got a classic lemonade, as has been our experience in Budapest, it was very good. My husband got a Melange and remembered to ask for it "extra hot", but as in every place we've had coffee in Budapest, it was served at almost room temperature so we've come to the opinion that this is how coffee is served in Hungary & we better get used to it.
Make sure you come here prepared for an extremely relaxed meal as service takes time.
I do have 1 request of the owners; please change or sharpen the breakfast knives, they are so blunt that I ended up with aching forefingers from trying to cut into my English muffin. I wasn't the only one struggling, I checked around to see how well others were managing with...
Read moreThe most unfriendly place we came across in Budapest. Waiter, nice-looking young women, was hostile, not smiling, appeared to hate our children and made us feel uncomfortable along with her other female colleague who went furious when my husband picked up menu by himself (obviously because she didn’t bring one on time and he thought he should take it by himself). The only one who welcomed and smiled once when we came in was bartender girl (she was standing behind the bar). Also, this place absolutely lacks normal kitchen hood, so if you want your clothes to smell like kitchen ‘til you take it off - go there! The food is below average to my taste, though looking not bad. The salmon fish didn’t seem fresh on avocado toast 😏 And instead of cashews promised they put peanuts without any notice. Strongly DO...
