I definitely recommend to book online in advance to save yourself time when you arrive. All you have to do when you arrive is let a guy scan your tickets then you’re in to collect your skates. There was also 2 lines for people with an online ticket and people who were buying their ticket there. Also once you buy your ticket it’ll only expire at the end of the season. It was a pretty quick process to getting onto the rink too. It took about 10 minutes for me to get downstairs, get my skates, and fit them to my liking. Once you get your skates you can head over to a guy right below the stairs that has cards for your locker that’s included in the price. You also have to deposit 5,000 HUF for each pair of skates you get (they also take euro). There seems to usually be quite a bit of people skating at one time but the rink’s big enough to withstand the amount. There’s also an area to the side of the rink for sitting down if you want to take a break from skating. On the other side they sell food such as chimney cakes and langos. I had gone on the 8th of February and the ice was a bit wet but I found it be helpful because after a couple hours of skating the ice got rougher and rougher from the skating blades but when I went into the water area it was smoother. Overall, it was a very quick process for buying tickets and I had tons of fun and just good vibes all around from other people too.

I was really looking forward to going there but was hugely disappointed. My boyfriend and I went on december 30th and it was pure chaos. There were two lines from the entrance to the next little "bridge", only two signs. People were cutting the line and it was extremely disorganized. security personnel that was extremely unfriendly. A woman in front of us didn't understand what he was saying, mind you it's a tourist attraction, and he just yelled at her the hungarian word for ice skates, multiple times, each time louder and louder. My boyfriend told her that he means ice skates since he's hungarian. He complained to the person at the ticket office who was really nice and she said that it's a total chaos since it's an external security company that has nothing to do with the ice skating rink per se. And btw it's a security company that is very close to fidesz Then we finally entered and were told that there were no more locker keys, so we went to the ice, wanted to go on but were stopped and told that we need to put our shoes in the locker. We said that there were no cards left so he gave us his. Long story short, after finally buying a ticket, which took ap. 30min, it took another 30min to fight our way through the masses at the locker, the toilets etc. Then we finally went ice skating and the first thing we see on the ice is a woman that fell and was unconscious. It's easy to see why: It's so full that we got seperated multiple times during skating, people nearly crashed into each other and in my honest opinion there should be at least 100-200 people less on the ice. They seem to let everyone in without a maximum number or if there is one, the maximum capacity is too high. The Toilets are dirty, trash is laying around. All in all it seems to be a money making machine, 3500 forint is outrageous for that badly organized experience. Never again, which is very sad, since my boyfriend has fond memories of that place from when he was younger and the scenery is indeed beautiful. One star for the scenery, zero for the rest. Down below you can see the trash can- it was like that everywhere that day.

Beautiful location to go ice skating. The prices are okay, 2000 ft entrance and another 2000 ft for ice skates. Place was absolutely packed when we went, couldn’t even walk through the locker rooms. The ice was terrible just an hour after opening. There’s no organization on the ring. People that have no idea how to skate and little kids are on the ring. They should have a separate area for them. Some groups also just stand in the middle of the ice chit chatting. This resulted in multiple people crashing and falling to avoid them. People and kids that can’t ice skate, shouldn’t be allowed on the regular ring. And staff should make sure that no group huddle up on the ring either. There’s options to buy food and drinks right on the ring, waiting time is horrendous. We waited 20 minutes and left without getting anything. Also, locker rooms smell very bad.

One of the biggest ice rings I’ve seen for sure. For 2 adults expect a day pass of around 35€ (entry fee and skate rentals). Overall very good experience and very well organized (lots of people running the public closet for storing our coats and bags safely. Just keep in mind you will need 2000FT per person as a deposit in cash to get the skates and you’ll get it back when you return the rental skates. It was very crowded in peak hours but still, you can easily get around the ring. Also there are shops in the ring serving cinnamon chimneys, wine etc, as well as a dj booth. Beware, there is no wall or something to grab onto if you’re learning ice skating. Would recommend to anyone.

As a former figure skater, this was my favourite activity in Budapest. The rink is massive and there's no boards, so you can really take in the beautiful view of the surrounding park. The ice was fresh when I arrived for the afternoon session and the rink side food and drink vendors are so cute! Entry fee is reasonable especially given that you can skate for hours. Unsurprisingly, the rental skates are a bit rubbish but I think for most tourists it's worth it not to pay to bring them on a plane (unless you dream of spinning and jumping under the night sky - you will fall if you try to do that in these plastic boots haha). I still got lots of laps and some good lunges in 😊
