Hummus Bar — Restaurant in Budapest

Extremely disappointing - we ate a few times in Hummus bar in October 6th utca and food there was amazing, especially homemade pita bread and falafel so our disappointment couldn't be any bigger when we received our food here only to see that pita bread and falafel are from supermarket and tasted awful. I literally can't believe that restaurant serves such junk and charges standard prices, especially restaurant that's part of franchise that used to have really amazing pita bread and falafel, what were they thinking? Hummus is also quite bad, bitter and filled with canned chickpeas and lifeless mushrooms, za'atar sticks are nearly inedible junk - literally deep fried pieces of the same awful supermarket pitabreads with za'atar barely in traces, terrible. I just can't believe what junk they served, especially considering Hummus bar used to be my favorite restaurant in Budapest for their amazing homemade pita bread and falafel. I don't know is this problem only on this location or in the whole franchise but this is so sad and disappointing. I never gave lower than 3 stars to any restaurant and I hate to do it but I never felt so disappointed,...

My favourite hummus bar between the different locations due to its nice outside are and their chilled atmosphere away from the busy streets . Service is great and the food is good Good food very affordable and clean restaurant , the service was great and very nice . The location is great as well with a great outside seating area . The food arrived fast and hot and the flavour was great the price was very good for Budapest fast food . We ordered the chicken shawarma plate and the meat kufta with falafel balls their dishes are served with two side dishes of your choice and we chose hummus and fries they have complementary sauces that are free of charge . Their waitresses are very friendly and nice which is not something common in this city . Defiantly recommend for a quick authentic bite same price as any other fast food place it is not a fine dinning experience so if you go there with this in mind you will have a great experience...

I ate dinner here this evening ($1520 HUF). I went to pay. I used 3 different cards and their machine wasn't working. I had to wait while he called the bank. Still not working. Then, rather than offer to let me go and have the meal on the house the staff member began arguing with me. Went to check that the ATM across the square was working properly and directed me to go withdraw cash. I explained I was leaving Budapest early in the morning and the international cash withdrawal fee would double the cost of my meal. Still he argued.

Finally, a nice local man offered to pay for my meal - which I refused - but the staff member promptly grabbed his cash and basically told me to get out when I said this is not how you should treat customers.

This rates as one of my all time worst experiences. Absolute contempt for both me and the local guy, who backed me up and who then refused to eat there that...
