Where to start, I spent 4 days in majestic Budapest. I will start first with positive things and that ia location. Location of hotel for walk sightseeing is greate, we didnt use car at all, everthing you need to see is at reasonable distance from hotel, also staff at the hotel are polite but I did not get the impression that they were helpful ( I wll start now with negative things). I now this isnt some luxury hotel but these things can be improved. I had paid breakfast and it was fine, just every morning was same food...(my recomendation is to make 2 different menus and mix them so people can experience something nice and not to eat same food every morning). Another thing is room cleanliness, when we got in the room the bad was ok, but toalet was dirty, and there was no sticker that he was disinfected, also there was some dust in room. Sound isolation is ok i dont mind to hear talk from other room so this didnt bother me. At the end i would like to say one more thing and the main reason for giving 3 stars, this thing is parking, at the booking there was written there is parking and private parking, but hotel have just public parking in front of it and you have to pay it and max time to par here is 3h per day(from monday to friday you need to pay). I dont have problem to pay parking but then dont write that you have parking... Neareet garage is in next street and you have to pay 20 euros per day to park there. All in all this was nice vacation, I recomend all to visit Budapest, and I hope hotel will improve they service to customers.
PS. Download app called "Parkl" and you will be saved. You can pay parking with card, juat need to verify phone number and card, at the setting you need to make verfying transacion to pay 100HUF but this will...
Read moreWe really enjoyed our stay at the Erzsebet Hotel. We stayed four nights and had three single beds in our room. For only £306 for 3 people, this is a really great price for the location of the hotel, especially when it includes breakfast!
It was quiet at night which is good, with it being a little louder on the Friday evening - something expected for the location. This didn’t disrupt our sleep at all, as the windows were double glazed. The air conditioning did appear to need a re-gas, as it didn’t seem as cold as expected. This wasn’t a problem for us, as we left our windows open during the day.
The breakfast is served 7-10am, with cooked & raw meats, baked goods, and cereal too. We would’ve liked to see more fresh fruit options, as we did see lots on the images online. Maybe this is something available by request?
Arriving to Erzsebert from the airport, we took a local taxi. This only cost around Ft7,500. We asked the hotel to book us a taxi for the final day, and a private firm ‘ELIT’ turned up. The hotel estimated that the taxi would cost around Ft9,600 but it actually cost Ft13,000. We’d recommend using Bolt (like Uber) or just booking a local taxi for departure.
Overall, we had a great time at the hotel and would return without hesitation!...
Read moreI don’t like leaving bad reviews but this place definitely deserves it. Awful experience. I’d give it 0 stars if I could. After check-in, I went to the room to leave my stuff and go for dinner.
When I came back, I noticed there were tons of bugs around the ceiling corner and the walls. I immediately went downstairs to explain the issue, including showing the video to the receptionist to see how bad it was. He didn’t show any concern nor did he try to offer any resolution.
I asked if I can get another room, he shook his head saying they don’t have any, so I had to insist on it (showing him the video again), and eventually he gave me another room very reluctantly as if it were too much hassle for him. I understand the bugs are not his problem, but he could have at least tried to be a bit more understanding or empathetic about it. And upon check-out, when I left the keys the staff made no effort to ask if everything was okay or even offer any apology for the situation.
Apart from that, the pillows in the rooms are very thin and uncomfortable to sleep on, and the place is quite run down and in desperate need of maintenance (the carpets, the walls, etc.), so yeah, terrible...
