Fabulous. I am privileged to have been to many great restaurants in the US and abroad and this one makes the list with the most memorable. It's all about the food - exquisite taste and unique combinations. I had the goat cheese, pears and beets (ok, not all that unique, but dependably delicious) for an appetizer and the quality of the ingredients was top-notch. My main course was lamb chops and I have to say I've never tasted better lamb! The roasted vegetables on the side were attractively presented and the red grapes are a pleasant little surprise when you expect tomatoes. For dessert I had some sort of passion fruit and white chocolate tart with pineapple sorbet on the side. Such a unique combo. The atmosphere is nice, decor simple. Can be a bit loud when a large party comes in, but that's my only complaint. The bill was about 14000 Ft or about US$50 for myself. Expensive by Budapest standards, but well worth it and would expect at least 50% more in a big city in US. Venture over to the Buda side to this place and you're in...
Read moreThis elegant restaurant deep in the Budapest Hills on the Buda side of the city is brand new, opened just some weeks ago. Larus is a very fancy place, offering very nice dishes ranging from Steaks, Spare Ribs, Rabbit Ragout to Quail Filet. The selection of fine wines is remarkable as well. I was told that the owner also runs an Italian restaurant in the city center as well. The staff ius friendly and the cuisine is International. We had a delicious Baby Chicken with thyme as well as tasty Spare Ribs and dark Czech beer called Staropramen as well as Sparkling Apple Juice.
With beetroot as appetizer to get in the mood. Some of our group had reasonable 400 grams sirloin steaks.
The delicious roasted Baby Chicken with tomato-spinach as a side dish was very delicious as well as the tasty Spare Ribs with potatoes as side. As for the ribs I chose the smallest size (10 ribs). They also have medium and large size too here at Larus.

I’ve visited this restaurant multiple times with colleagues, and it has consistently impressed with its high-quality food. The menu is thoughtfully curated, with dishes that are both beautifully presented and delicious. Service is always polite and kind, adding to the overall enjoyable atmosphere.
However, on my last visit, I was a bit disappointed. The restaurant offers “small plates” almost at the same price as a main dish, but with half the portion size. Since the main dishes all contained lactose, I opted for a small plate and extra side dish but found it wasn’t quite enough even if I did not expect a full portion. Despite this, I’d still recommend the place for its ambiance...
