Szatyor Bár — Restaurant in Budapest

The food was good, I liked the layered potato and their gazpacho as well. The service was not good at all, plenty of room for improvement. It even started at the really first moment, we waited for the staff to ask where we can sit, and when they said anywhere we took our table which was quite in front of the staff even. After at least 5 minutes of waiting we had to ask for the menu, meanwhile some people who came at the same time they even got their drinks until that when we got the menu. Between the soup and our main dish we had to wait at least 50 minutes (while next to our table others ordered the same much later and received much sooner), even asked where is our food, and after that at least 10-15 minutes waiting for the bill after asked twice. I think it is totally okay if some mistake happens from time to time, but it was quite a lot during a simple stay. I think it is a fair ask to admit the mistake or at least say sorry for the delay, this isn't happen while we were there. Hope they will improve on...

We used this place as a meeting point since at least 8 times with a big group (10+ people). We already encountered earlier some unpleasant experiences with the reservation, but this time it was the worst. We got reservation until 9 PM, but the waiters kicked us simply out at 7:30 PM because they could not organise it properly - despite we had a clear confirmation mail from the bar. The staff did nothing to solve the problem: not organising other tables, no discount, not even a "sorry". The content and style of their communication could be translated as follow: "Who cares of your bad experiences. We are full, there will come other guests if you are not satisfied". (Not these words, but that was the meaning.)

The bonus is that the place is anyway extreme overpriced, while the service, the quality of the foods and furniture decreased slowly but steadily since the 8 occasions as we met there.

Super disappointing. Noisy. Super noisy. Almost unbearable. It was hard to hear the one sitting next to you and completely impossible to have a conversation.

The first waiter is nice, polite and super skilled. The second waiter was mega rude and expressed his open criticism of my order. I dared to asked for lemonade and a cider at the same time on a warm spring evening...

The food was ok, although the portions are miniscule, the prices are horrendously high, and the quality is inconsistent. The salad is delicious, but the potato casserole came with burnt salami and unsalted, almost beyond criticism.

The prices are rocket high, and do not reflect quality in any extend. We rather move to another place. 2 limonades, a cider and 1 course for 2 for HUF 13,000. I don't recommend the place, although it was a great...
