Tinu's Indiai étkezde — Restaurant in Budapest

I would've never found this small restaurant on my own, but I'm certainly very happy that I was taken here. It doesn't look much from the outside, nor stepping inside, but the food is really good, very tasty, big portions and you get the most authentic indian food in Budapest. At least in my opinion. Because this place is mostly serving the surrounding offices, it is not hyped yet, so the prices are more than reasonable, rather on the cheap side and the food is even better than from the indian I got used to in London, where they had indian people cooking for mostly indian customers...

Food is excellent here. Based on what I heard from a few Indians, it is also mostly authentic - they said the taste is right but the dishes are less hot than they would be in India, probably to cater to the local preferences here. Yet it is still very good and the hot stuff is still hot.

Prices are amazing, it is probably the cheapest Indian place in Budapest, but the quality is still good.

The places mostly serves local people on an every day basis, so the athmosphere and interior of the restaurant reflects that - it is rather minimalistic and nothing fancy. If that matters to you, this may not be the best place for you.

This restaurant is my favorite Indian restaurant in Budapest! Especially I love their chicken tikka masala and Vindaloo(both are spicy). And my husband loves their dal makhani! Also butter naan is the best of the best! I didn’t really enjoy Tandoori chicken(was a little uncooked), lassi(was watery) and spinach with cheese but I didn’t mind them since those above 4 dishes were really tasty! We found this restaurant coincidentally after shopping in the Lehel market. Now we are quite regular that we already have visited there more than 20times within 3months!
