Crowne Plaza Budapest, an IHG Hotel is a very nice, clean, modern and new-looking hotel next to the Westend shopping center. The hotel offers the possibility of parking your car in the garages located in the basement of the hotel. From the garages there is an elevator directly to the lobby with the reception. The hotel staff is very pleasant and helpful. The room and bathroom were clean. There was a sufficient number of towels in the bathroom. The bed was comfortable and each of us had two pillows. The hotel offers both soft and hard pillows (you have to ask for them at the reception, because you automatically get soft pillows). It depends on everyone's preference what they like to sleep on. The breakfasts were absolutely amazing - a large selection of savory and sweet dishes, cold and hot drinks. The food was amazing 😋. We would stay here again just for this breakfast. However, there are two things that we did not like at all about the hotel. 1) the room was cold. The temperature could only be set on the central air conditioning up to 24°C and not higher and it had limited power. So the builders have forgotten the laws of thermodynamics, that heat rises, and therefore if the air conditioning that heats is at the ceiling and has limited power, only a small amount of heat gets down to the floor and bed. That's for returning your college diploma, gentlemen 🤦. 2) the hotel had windows that were poorly insulated and leaky - we were on the third floor and through the closed windows we could hear cars driving on the street in the evening, overnight and in the morning. Either the hotel chose the wrong (thin or leaky) windows or the builders installed and sealed them poorly. It doesn't matter who made the mistake, but to have traffic noise in a room of such a hotel? Seriously? The overall experience was positive, but there is a big BUT!

I cannot pinpoint a downside to this hotel, and the highlights are many. First, I must mention the superb staff. Effortlessly charming and welcoming is the best way to describe them all. From the front desk, the food service team, to the housekeeping team- everyone greeted us with a smile and a nod, or an enquiry about how we are doing, or if they can be of service. I have already recommended this hotel to my friends and family. Location: very walkable, highly risky for shopaholics as it is located right next to a great mall 😆. It's within close proximity to a major transportation hub, and less than a mile from the Danube, which is a hub of activities. The parliament, the chain bridge, and the thermal bath houses are within walking distance. The restaurant here is actually pretty good, and the staff is phenomenal. The rooms are clean and well maintained, and so is the rest of the facility. Check out the gym and the sauna too!!! Major Highligts: 1. The lobby has a run resuscitation area with after- run refreshments as well as QR codes for different run routes. 2. The breakfast spread is not your typical hotel breakfast!! While it has the usual spread, you can order from the a la carte menu, which includes egg benedicts, omelets, Florentino, and a lot more. There's even a picnic brunch on the weekends that you can reserve, and the staff sets up a beautiful picnic area outside. I've never seen anything like it!!!!

High quality hotel and great experience staying here; the customer service is first class (well spoken English, resolving minor issues, professional and courteous). Reception is grandiose as per the photo, you also have two entrances one connecting the shopping mall and another the main streets. Little touches are nice with welcome drinks and fruits you can help yourself. The place has a nice fresh and clean smell that is sprayed throughout and after a long day is a nice to have. Rooms: modern, clean and has everything you need. The showers are great and the viewpoints are nice. If there was anything negative to say it would be toilet flush is to be cautious of. Breakfast: recommend going for breakfast here; the quantity and selection of food on offer here is exceptional. Tip: is to order from the menu as they prefer it fresh, well prepared, presented and tasty. The dining area inside and outside are also super clean and modern, makes it the perfect breakfast spot. Gym: 24/7 access and has the popular machines you would want. It was also not busy the few times I went in (most of the time even empty). Club lounge: offer a nice space and view with range of beverages and snacks on offer. Overall I would highly recommended this place to stay and I have stayed here multiple times already. Keep up the great service team!

This excellent hotel seems still to be a bit of a work in progress - it’s an odd shape and lay out which I’ll leave for you to decipher if you decide to visit. It works well but it’s pretty unique and not like most other hotels. I suspect that conferences and functions are integral in their business plan as the design and layout supports such use.

Anyway, I’m generally not a big fan of Hungarian city centre hotels but based on reputation, we thought we would give the CP a try to see if we might change our opinion. We stayed for one night (incidentally our 16th wedding anniversary)only so please forgive the lack of discussion on any hotel facilities that we have missed.

It’s a new, large frontaged city building facing directly onto the street. It’s not really central for foot access to the main tourist attractions further south. It’s in a shopping street in a predominantly business area north of the main tourist hubbub and next to the excellent Westside mall - to me this hotel is in a nicer part of Budapest and my wife loved the Mall !

OK - we got a nice warm greeting from Alex at reception was accompanied by an early check in - many thanks Alex.

Our junior suite on the 4th (top floor) was really good - all the cleanliness and amenities you would expect except no face flannel(!) great comfy bed, fast internet and plenty of power and USB points.

The interesting “Junior Suite” layout has the TV viewing area in what appears to be a a passageway! No worry, the idea actually works. The location of the room (477)can be seen from my photograph of the 4th floor plan.

All non breakfast food is served in the Axis lounge on the ground floor which actually opens to the street -a pleasant idea. Food here was good and service from Gabor and the serving ladies was super - thanks guys. And thanks also to the Front office for the anniversary gift of a bottle of wine! That was very thoughtful.

A final note on breakfast - it’s the usual large hot and cold buffet with all types of eggs to order but my “over easy” ordered fried eggs were burnt crispy and rock hard. The teacup I had also smelt a bit of disinfectant but its replacement was fine. Hot food serving plates were not provided which meant that hot food cooled too quickly, an issue I have with very many hotel restaurants. Thats about it - apart from these small things, we really enjoyed our stay and we will...

Just concluding my stay here in Crowne Plaza Budapest. All I can say is WOW!! Just WOW! Am impressed. Hotel and the staff exceeded my expectations. |Before I get to the amenities and food I would like to extend my gratitude thanks and huge CONGRATULATIONS to the staff of the Plaza;|Viktoria, Lazslo Mark at the Front desk.|Viktoria is professional yet friendly, creating welcoming atmosphere right upon arrival. |Laszlo was friendly and very patient when answering a ton of my questions about Budapest. Their professional service was impeccably blended wit their friendly smile and welcoming attitude|Room service staff , I didn't get any names, as my room got cleaned while I was out and about Budapest. But nonetheless, their dedicated service needs to be mentioned and I thank them greatly.|At the dining room, located on the 1st floor of the hotel, Fiorella ( F&B manager) welcomed me with a smile, professional demeanor and helped me , also very patiently i might add, with all my questions. Emese and Lili, both waitresses, were sweet and so very helpful. Smile never left their faces from what I was able to observe whilst eating. |I am impressed beyond all my expectations. |Hotel itself is located about 300 meters from the Nyugati train station and is attached to a wide Westend shopping mall. You can walk from the hotel directly to the shopping mall via door at the reception area. |My room wirh a king size bed is spacious and the bathroom had both - shower and a bathtub. |Amenities included: shampoos, conditioners, body lotions, hairdrayer in the bathroom and in the living area: tea, coffee, also decaf, creamer, hot coco and a teapot to boil water in. |Mattress was neither too soft nor too hard but was JUST right:) |Breakfast buffet - splendid. Wide selection of cheeses, breads, cereals, yogurts, fruits veggies. Also oriental foods like baba ganoush, also freshly grilled zucchini and eggplants, salmon, olives black and green, artichokes, homemade jams like mango pineapple with no additives, freshly squeezed apple, orange tomato juices from local produce...even a vodka to make your own breakfast Bloddy Mary 😄|Now I stayed in many hotels in my time, here in Europe, Africa and North America |This hotel ranks at the top 10 of all my stays.|Thank you Crowne Plaza for great hospitality and superbly picked staff! They all represent you...

Full marks to this hotel! We stayed here on the night of 13th June. We'd arrived in Budapest late in the day, tired after a long journey, checked into a different hotel in another part of the city and went out for a quick meal. Returning at about 21:00, we had a problem with the keycard, could not get into our room and no-one answered the "virtual reception" on the out of hours phone number. We tried for several hours without success and contemplated what to do. At midnight, as it was clear the issue wasn't going to resolve itself and facing a choice of sleeping on the reception floor or finding somewhere else to stay for the night, we decided to ring the Crowne Plaza. We weren't hopeful - it was late, the city was busy and a glance of available hotels didnt show much availability. However, the Crowne Plaza were so helpful and booked us in to one of the last few remaining rooms. A short taxi ride across the city and we arrived, exhausted and stressed after our ordeal of the past three hours.

On arrival we were met calmly at reception by Viktoria, who was so incredibly welcoming and looked after us so well. As all of our belongings were locked away in our other hotel, Viktoria supplied us with some amenity kits, some water and above all showed genuine empathy for our situation. She checked us in efficiently and courteously, and we were finally able to get some much needed sleep. The room was, as expected, comfortable, clean and well appointed.

On checking out, again the interaction with the staff was exceptional. It appeared that Cefarina and Patrik had been informed about our situation by Viktoria and were both so lovely about everything. Again, the manner in which the staff spoke to us was exemplary.

We hope to return to Budapest some day and if we do, this would be our hotel of choice.

Finally, and above all, please pass on our thanks to Viktoria, Cefarina and Patrik - all three truly are a credit...
